Do not mix this in to smoothies. You could very easily give your self iron poisioning.

Q: does it conduct electricity?

Iron oxide is rust (an insulator) and will not conduct electricity

Q: 2 questions, how magnetic is this stuff compared to the synthetic iron oxide? About how much volume is 5 lbs?

It is equally magnetic, the only difference is partical size. If you are using it for magnetic field lines the larger particles work better and don't clump up. 5 lb of iron oxide is a bag about 20%the smaller than 4 lbs sugar bag you buy at the supermarket.
