If you’re looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker that balances sound quality, durability, and convenience, the Xiaomi Portable Speaker is a solid option. It pushes out more volume than you’d expect from its size, with 30W drivers and passive bass radiators giving the sound some real weight. It’s not going to deliver earth shattering bass, and it’s definitely not Bose bass, but you are also not paying Bose prices. For its size, it does a pretty good job. You can apparently pair two of them together for a stereo setup. I didn’t try that myself, but I’d expect it to give a noticeable improvement in separation and immersion.In terms of portability, it’s easy to throw into a backpack and light enough not to be a burden. The built-in microphone does the job for hands-free calls, though like most speaker mics, it works best indoors rather than in windy or noisy outdoor spaces.The IP67 rating is a big plus. It feels reassuring to know it can handle rain, dust, or even a quick dunk, which makes it great for camping, the beach, or just leaving in the bathroom without worrying about steam or splashes.Battery life is supposed to be between 10 to 12 hours, depending on volume (I got about 10.5 hours). That is enough to get through a day trip or a small gathering, though not the longest out there. On the upside, Bluetooth 5.4 makes connections quick and stable. I didn’t run into any signal drops.Overall, it is a well-rounded little speaker and a good value for the price. It will not replace a proper home setup, and bass lovers might want something bigger, but for everyday listening and outdoor use, it is a reliable and easygoing choice.

Quality looks and button placements. Great size for portability and I like the handle. Waterproof to a degree (IP67 means temporary water submersion, so keeping it totally underwater wouldn't be a good plan) and USB C rechargeable, which is why I got it - though to be fair I am not going to purposefully try to submerge it or anything. Just wanted something that can protect against pool or splash pad days with the kids and not have to deal with replacing batteries.Connectivity is easy, but some devices have better sound output than others, which is primarily where my rating loses a star. I would like it to be even across devices so whether I am connected to my phone out and about or my computer at home, I can expect the same sound. Speaking of sound the quality is really good mid range. I wish the bass didn't fade out and that there was more fidelity in the sound at higher volumes, but it isn't the worst, especially not for the value.Interesting bonus is that you can get multiples of these and link them up via stereo mode. Apparently up to 100 of these with synchronized sound, which is a crazy high number, but I guess if you wanted to make some sort of intricate stereo network, it would be totally worth it.Overall, awesome mid range speaker and quality at a reasonable cost. Seems like a great gift option too.

I was looking for a speaker to bring to gatherings for some background music. This speaker covered that and more. It has dual passive bass speakers (one on either end) which work very well, and gets plenty loud enough. I initially had an issue keeping the Bluetooth on to allow me to connect to it. After the initial issue, I was able to pair it to multiple devices over the next few days without an issue. Along with connecting to your device via Bluetooth, it also supports TWS. If you have more than one, it will sync to a second one to give true stereo. If you have more than two, it will sync up to a total of 100 to be able to place around the yard (about 20’ apart) to provide music all around. I was not able to test this, as I only had one speaker.The speaker gets loud enough for indoors and is also loud enough outside for a small gathering. I watched a movie with it and was impressed with how well it sounded. Unfortunately, I did not check the battery level before/after, but I am confident based on my other usage that the battery will last for a long party. The only thing this speaker is missing is a slot for a memory card. I sometimes like to preload my music onto a card so I have exactly what I need. I can overlook this, because the speaker sounds so good and I am looking forward to using for many more movies.

As the holiday season rolls closer, I figured I needed something to crank out some tunes while putting up decorations. I expected “okay background music.” What I got was way more than that. This little unit absolutely nailed it.For starters, it’s a nice reasonable size—small enough to live on the counter without hogging space, but the sound it produces is ridiculous. Clear, crisp, and somehow with a bass that makes you wonder if it’s hiding a subwoofer in there. I was not expecting this kind of depth from something so compact.Pairing? A breeze. It gives you audio notifications when it enters pairing mode and again when it’s connected, so you’re never left guessing. The controls are intuitive enough that I never cracked open the directions once (and honestly, isn’t that the real test of design?).Power is via a USB-C cable, which is great… except, of course, no charging block. It’s 2025 and apparently every company assumes we’re just swimming in spare USB ports. Mildly annoying, but honestly? This little speaker deserves to steal a port from something else.Bottom line: if you need music—holiday playlists, kitchen dance parties, whatever—this thing punches way above its weight. Highly recommended.
