Saved my wallet
When the A/C compressor died on my 2015 dodge Challenger I thought no problem, I have all the hoses. Well when I couldn't the high pressure side to connect I started doing some web browsing. Turns out my car uses a new refrigerant, R-1234yf. and the High pressure side is different. In my area, only the dealer could do it and they wanted $1200 to start. Turns out this new Refrigerant does not cool as well as R134a. Other shops are not dealing with 1234yf because it takes a special machine that takes hours to use. NOTE: Do not try this if your system still has Refrigerant in it. There is no law stopping me from running R134a and as my system was empty I used these adapters to first evacuate my system then refill it with R134a instead of 1234yf. It saved my a lot of money as R134a is about $14 of 8 0z. and 1234yf if you could get it is $86 for 8 oz. My Challenger is cold again, and I didn't have to take out a personal loan.
