There's a reason they are called Tiger Nuts.
I am almost hesitant to post this review for fear that Seed Barn/Ranch will increase the price. I bought 16 oz packages of Tiger Nuts from two other Amazon sellers and they were great. Problem was, they were also ridiculously expensive. They were sold as 'peeled', but the only thing they did was run them through a food-grade abrasive drum to peel off some, not all, of one of the healthiest parts of this nut.Let me say that Chufa Seed/Tiger Nuts/Earth Almonds whatever, are a superfood that stretches back to Paleolithic Hunter-Gatherers.They contain: Prebiotic Fiber (Resistant Starch Type 2) [this feeds all the good bugs that hopefully make up your gut biome without feeding the fat cells covering your abs] • Alpha-tocopherol [Anti-oxidant that reduces oxidative DNA damage--think cancer] • Magnesium, Potassium, and Zinc [sort of the 'Big Three' minerals] • High levels of unsaturated fatty acids, particularly oleic acid [improves lipid profiles] • and lastly, possibly why they are called Tiger Nuts, they have been shown in research studies to significantly increase serum Testosterone. Apparently the rats in the study grew larger nuts and became quite randy around the females. These nuts from Seed Barn are sold as seed to plant or seed to give to animals. Other reviewers have indicated that they are edible and I can confirm that they are not only edible, but delicious--sort of chewy, nutty flavor that is surprisingly sweet. You can eat them right out of the feed bag, but I grind them up in my lunchtime smoothie.

Arrived alas Expected
This is my 3rd buy from seller, quality is good and has little dirt compared to others. The price is also reasonable too.

not a gtreat find
i like the fact that this tigernuts is cheap and was impressed by one woman.s review that she snacked on it after washing it very well, so i bought it and picked it and washed them so much that i thought i have removed most of the peels and even soak them in apple cider vinegar, still the sand could not completely be removed. also i am scared that if the nuts were treated for planting with CHEMICALS, i am in for a long term HEALTH issues. Please warn customers that they are meant for planting only. the snacking tigernuts have increased in price that it is rich man,s snack.i think i will go back to almond for snacking it is cheaper at whole food stores.

If anyone knows how to use them better let me know
Bought to make horchata drinks but even after soaking they aren't soft enough to use in my soyjoy milk maker! they were just as hard after a half hour! If anyone knows how to use them better let me know! Maybe I need to grind them first. I don't have wild turkeys or a fish farm so I'm sure they are good for those things! I did plant some and they are growing well in my raised bed. Don't know yet what I'll do with even more, though!!
