If you want to use a salad spinner for small clothing items, get one of the hand crank ones, where you control the speed and direction on the top. The pump and drawstring ones don't offer enough control once clothes become bunched up from going the same direction for too long.

The bowl is 5 liters, which is about 5 quarts, or 20 cups. As big, or bigger than most other salad spinners. You probably wouldn't want to pack it tightly to capacity. But it easily holds the greens for a salad for 4 to 8 servings.

Q: Can I store leftover lettuce in it?

I don’t see why not, if you take the basket out. I don’t do that though, I store in a container with an air tight lid and throw in some paper towels, just to absorb an excess moisture, it’ll keep fit 5 days like that and no gross brown lettuce.
