Sturdy...comfortable

Wanted a tablet holder for laying in bed that didn't fall forward or sideways like my previous one. This one keeps tablet in place while laying down. Exactly what I wanted.

For me personally, laying in bed propped up by pillows, so not flat on my back, I prefer using a pillow on my chest to support my iPad. This pillow stand, even with all its adjustability isn’t the most practical for me to use. Especially when interacting with the iPad. The sides get in the way of my wrists. It would be okay if I was just reading and not having to touch the screen often. It also weighs more than a pillow. Now it does a decent job of holding the iPad in place, but I still have to hold the sides of the pillow stand. Overall, I find that it has its uses and is well made and comfortable when resting on my chest/stomach, but like I said it interferes with my wrist and hand movement. So I think I’ll continue to use a pillow and not this pillow stand.

I can’t spend $100 on a Switch holder and as I was searching I found this great alternative. It’s just as simple and you can just add a clip to it and it’s stable too

It does exactly what I needed it to.

This is probably the most unique beanbag lapdesk that I've used. It's a great choice if you are in a sitting position, but not optimal if you are laying down or heavily reclined. The unit comes all assembled. The beanbag pillow is relatively huge. I've used multiple pillow lapdesks over the years, and this one is has the thickest pillow by at least twice as much. The pillow will conform to your lap, but it has more rigidity than I expected. The pillow cover can be zippered off for washing. The cover is soft and kind of has a unique microfiber feel to it, but I didn't mind the texture. The top of the lapdesk is where all the action in. First, you can use it as flat tray if you want, and that flat tray when it's fully folded down has a lightly bumpy texture to create some friction for any device you put on it. It won't slide around. The pop up tray is actually secured by magnets in the underside corners, which I didn't appreciate until I realized how much force I needed to apply to be able to "unlock" the pop up stand. So that tray isn't going anywhere by accident if you put a valuable laptop on top of it. When you pop up the stand, the thing is a versatile transformer. You can pull out just two hook to hold a tablet, or you can pull out a larger lower lip for a more secure fit, and/or you can even pull out this two swinging hooks on the side to secure oddly shaped items. It should be able to hold almost anything you can think of putting on it. On the space that is created after you pop up the stand, you can rest a propped up phone in there, or a pencil in the pencil/stylus groove, or put small items in the recessed divot in the middle. It gives you a lot of options. In terms of functionality, it works very well if you are sitting, or slightly reclined and your eye angle is downward. It's a great lapdesk if that is your expected use. However, it's not ideal if you are reclined all the way back in a recliner, or if you propped up your head and neck with a pillow and you are laying down. The closer to get to using the lapdesk with an eye level that is even with the lapdesk, the worse it performs. That's because as you tilt the stand to get more vertical for your closer to straight-on viewing angle, the weight distribution can be thrown off with the somewhat squishy high pillow, and it makes it easier for lapdesk to tilt forward, which can make your tablet also tilt forward too much and fall off the flip-out hooks. Overall, if you only want a cushion-y lapdesk to use in a most upright seated position, this one is great. If you also want to use this one while reclined, it starts to lose its luster.
