Although the jar was bubble-wrapped and placed in a white carton, that carton wasn't securely wedged into the outside shipping carton. Inside the lid of the white carton were several oil small oil stains, and the top of the bubble-wrap was slightly oily. The jar lid was sealed with plastic strapping and seemed undisturbed. Central Grocery and Rufus thought the contents are safe. The salad is delicious! full of fat green olives,, and far superior to the Boscoli brand. Best purchasing option would be, I think, in person shopping at a local grocery store, to avoid the oil seepage problem and consequent food safety concern.

Love, love, love this olive salad. Great for muffulettas. My husband’s family is from New Orleans. I’ve had this many times. The best!!! The only reason I didn’t give it Five stars is the price.

Wayyyy too salty for me. Can’t taste the spices the veggies are pickled in. It was a pricey purchase so it’s sitting in the back of the fridge, I’m waiting for a miracle so it’ll be edible….Very disappointed.
