I'm very well pleased with this as a table pad. It is thicker than the last one I had so is a littler heavier which means it stays put. The thicker padding and plastic top layer also help protect against spills. I use coasters and hot pads on my table, so I can't address heat resistance. I haven't had it long enough to vouch for durability. It's well made, and I expect it will last for years. It pretty much keeps my lighter weight or slick tablecloths from sliding around on the table. I haven't really had to clean it yet. It has a smooth plastic top layer that should be easy to wipe clean if needed. Overall, it was worth spending a little more to get a quality pad (no more cheap table pads that my cat shreds the underlining from underneath the table).

I'm delighted with this table pad protector which I use under my tablecloth to protect my wood dining table. It lays smoothly and stays in place when I put the table cloth over it. It hangs well, not too stiff. It protects the table from spills - we've had one already - and wipes up easily. The vinyl smell disappeared quickly when removed from the packaging. I purchased a second one to use when the table is expanded for large gatherings.
