Yes, this supplement is vegan. Justin Goldberg: There is nothing "happy" about your grass fed steak. Animals that die frightened have meat that is tainted with adrenaline. My Grandparents always hunted with a bow. That's why our venison always tasted so much better than our neighbors. For the record, I am not vegan, but I no longer eat red meat.

There is no question here. All I can say is that my vegan doctor recommended I take a thyroid supplement because I was nearing the pre diabetic stage. She said it would perk me up. I have been dieting & losing weight & felt tired. She told me to go to a Health Food Store . I didand had a choice of two Thyroid energy supplement. I picked the cheaper of the two....which wasn't exactly cheap. The other cost twice as much.I would say it has perked me up a bit. I'm not doing cartwheels or dog sledding across Alaska. My numbers are better, blood pressure down so will be going off medication soon.............but the weight loss & eating green could be the reason....or it could be a combination. I'm going to keep taking Thyroid suppliment.

Can you take this and taper off Levothroid and or synthetic thyroid medication?

as n2flip said, iodine does not replace the thyroxin supplement; iodine is a material that may help those with low thyroid process the thyroid supplement better. On the subject of "natural" versus synthetic thyroid replacement hormone, some people do better on the Armour type, some (like me) do much better on Synthroid. "Synthetic" does not mean evil & "natural" is not automatically perfect for everyone. Different people have different physiologies and respond differently to a given med; each person needs to find which works best with his/her own body. Any medicine has side effects for some people.
