This seems like a pretty basic item
This seems like a pretty basic item, but I've used other egg puncture gadgets that had all sorts of problems. Sometimes they needed so much pressure that you would crush the egg shells or they would make holes that were too big and the egg white would leak out, for instance. But this one is perfect! It is very sharp and fine so a quick prick does the job flawlessly. Another handy feature is that the pin point retracts. That prevents you from either accidentally stabbing other things (like your finger!) when you handled it or dulling the pin between uses. The attached magnet also keeps it handy, Just grab it off the fridge or wherever. That way it's never lost in a jumbled drawer when you need it. I'm buying several more for gifts and convenience sake. A good product that does what it's supposed to! Added to review: the magnet kept coming off the back of this and the gadget would drop off the refrigerator all the time. I used a little crazy glue, though, and problem solved!

I was surprised how well it works
This does work well but the egg shell sometimes cracks instead of punching a hole so I am not sure if it isn't sharp enough or if it is expected. I boiled fresh laid eggs and was mostly able to peel them. Where the hole punches the egg white was tough which isn't pleasant. I will try again but not use fresh laid eggs but a few days at least. Overall I like the product for first use.

Great
I really like this item. Wouldn't boil an egg without it now. The magnet came off early on and I had to glue it back on but I don't care. I love this item. I have used similar items from other companies but this is the one. I keep an unopened spare in the cabinet.

The perfect hard boiled egg every time
I've been using this product for many years and thought I would order several more to give as gifts. For some reason, my family has been on a egg and olive salad kick lately. It seems I'm making it several times a week and it's almost impossible to shell fresh farm eggs, hence the yellow chicken. You just have to poke a hole in the larger end of an egg, steam it for 12-13 minutes and then plunge into an ice water bath. I steam instead of boil my eggs because I normally cook 6-8 eggs at a time. After being in the ice water for 10 minutes or so, I crack and roll each egg and the shell comes off perfectly. Such a thing of beauty. I've also steamed quail eggs for pickling.

Item brand is not what was listed on the description.
I was disappointed that the package didn't identify as a Fox Run product as described and the instructions were in Chinese or Japanese. I have only tried it once and it barely poked a hole in 9ne egg and the other may have been damaged because it cracked in my egg cooker. I do like the magnet feature but I didn't glue it as others have recommended in some reviews. Only time will tell if the magnet falls off. I really liked the Fox Run 5711 but it doesn't have a magnet. I bought this item as an extra in case I misplaced the other on I would have an extra one hanging on the fridge. I'm not saying don't buy it I just took away stairs because of the brand issue.

Perfectly peeled hard boiled eggs every time.
I always have had troubles with peeling my hard boiled eggs perfectly. This device pricks a small hole to separate the shell from the proteins of the eggs before boiling, and helps create an easy peel every time. It’s easy to keep on the fridge since it’s magnetic, or in your utensil drawer due to its small size. It’s silly, cheap, but I use it every time I’m making a soft boiled or hard boiled egg.

Worthless
I wanted to like this product. It’s magnetized, so it sticks to the refrigerator, and putting a hole in the end of the egg makes peeling boiled eggs much easier. Unfortunately, the design is bad. Pressing down on it didn’t puncture the egg, so I pressed harder. Still no puncture. I pressed harder, and the egg broke! This immediately dripped egg inside the device and there is no way to open it up to clean it. I tried and tried but it never really came completely clean inside because it’s still slightly sticky. I’ve tried other brands of eggs and still it doesn’t work. Now I’m back to using a push-pin to do the job. This was a big disappointment.

Useful & Cute
Works fine, but the magnet on the back came off after only using for less than 2 weeks. Some glue will fix it, but regardless it did fall off. Otherwise pretty nice.
