Best known as the original vocalist and founding member of the platinum selling hard rock band RATT, Stephen Pearcy has been hard at work completing his highly anticipated fifth solo album "View to a Thrill", while at the same time keeping busy performing shows across the U.S. "View To A Thrill" includes 11 superb Ratt 'n Roll songs written by Stephen Pearcy, together with guitarist Erik Ferentinos, that will surely please fans of his last solo effort, "Smash" as well as fans of his original band, RATT. The track listing flows perfectly and takes you on an audio journey through blistering rockers mixed with slower, more measured numbers. Like RATT's catalog, this is a record that showcases the art of the riff! Erik Ferentinos is truly Pearcy's secret weapon as displayed by the mind-bending solos on display throughout "View To A Thrill".With over 15 million records sold worldwide with RATT, there is simply no slowing Pearcy down in the 21st century. Pearcy is an accomplished songwriter with credits on all of RATT's records throughout the years, including the "RATT" EP, "Out Of The Cellar", "Invasion Of Your Privacy", "Dancing Undercover", "Reach for the Sky", "Detonator", "Ratt", and "Infestation". Stephen is also a producer, composer, owner/product creator of "Mic Knuckles" (hands free mic holder), and has also been involved in recording songs for TV, movies, ESPN2 and NHRA Drag Racing Series over the years. He is also involved in sponsoring several top fuel dragsters and funny cars, which he has been doing since the '80s. FOR FANS OF: Ratt, Motley Crue, Warrant, Cinderella, Winger, Dokken

ABSOLUTE RATT & ROLL WITHOUT THE ORIG RATT BAND
This is an absolute gem of an album !!!! Make no mistake, this album rocks and is (like another reviewer said) the closest thing you can get to a RATT album without the rest of the band but, its a little bit heavier in places. Lots of smilarities to RATT riffs (thats to be expected) but the songs are just great !!! Catchy hooks and melodies and together with Stephens' distinct trademark voice it adds up to 11 songs of pure sublime (close to) ratt n roll !!!One thing that I miss is Warren DeMartini's blistering guitar solos; I'm not saying that the guitarist that plays on this album isnt good - because he is - but he just doesn't let it rip enough for me. Some of the solos are good but they just need to be that bit more!!!FORGET all the previous solo albums that Stephen has done before, they aint a patch on this one. I know a previous reviewer says he prefers "Smash" but it just doesnt cut it for me - believe me, "View To A Thrill" fkn Rocks!!! A must have album for any fan of RATT (and i'm a MASSIVE RATT fan) !!!

Excellent album (if too short at 36 min) from Ratt's front man
I have not tried to find out why Ratt is not producing new stuff, but meanwhile their singer has made 2 excellent solo albums with lots of stuff that could clearly appear on a good new Ratt one. Familiar stuff but ... not quite, and that makes it exciting. Stephen has an incredible voice, recognizable among millions, and the song quality is very high, the band is tight around him, the sound excellent. I can find only one thing to regret: too short. Only 36 minutes. But not a single one of it boring. Can we ask for more? MUST HAVE.

Another great cd from SEP band.
Another great cd following on from last year's Smash. Stephen Pearcy (Ratt) and Erik Ferentinos (guitars) have grown into a great song writing team. This album rocks hard from start to finish and contributions of slide guitar on one of the more mellow tracks from Robbie Krieger (The Doors) add a great groove. Ratt/Pearcy fans will not be disappointed.

Sterling effort, could be a Ratt album
Stephen Pearcy's last album "Smash" basically drew me back into the world of Ratt. It had been a long time since their excellent comeback album "Infestation" which was a glorious throwback to the 80's. Smash was very good, with more than enough to satisfy any Ratt fan. I've got to say though that "View to a thrill" is even better than Smash, and even more Ratt sounding than any of his previous solo works. More akin I would say to the Dancing undercover period, but not as immediate. I think his first album with his band Arcade is better, but as solo efforts go it gets a big thumbs up. Lets just hope we get another Ratt album soon, and if its of this quality I will be more than happy.
