Bottle leaking, cracked and discolored
I think product itself is probably a good one - But bottle was broken seems by a hairline crack at its base. It arrived double wrapped in bubble wrap. inner layer soaked in oil. I removed plastic cover. You can see from picture how much was lost to leakage. Can see the discoloration at base of bottle, so maybe quality of oil itself has been compromised. This item cannot be returned. It took me several days to realise the crack was there, as I hadn't removed the plastic. So if you get this, check it carefully, immediately.

I picked up the 3-IN-ONE 10038 multi-purpose oil for general household and workshop use, and it’s been exactly what I hoped for. It’s small and easy to store, and the precision tip makes it simple to get oil exactly where you need it — whether that’s squeaky hinges, stubborn bolts, or small moving parts on tools and appliances. I use it on door hinges, bike chains, my drill chuck, and even on some of my workshop tools. It cuts through light rust and lubricates really well without leaving a gross buildup. Does exactly what it’s supposed to do — simple, effective lubrication from a brand I trust. Worth having around in the drawer or tool bag.

This is 8 oz of 3_&1 oil, which is FAR larger than the “normal “ 1 or 2 oz size I used before. Since I’ve been around for awhile, I have used 3&1 oil for over 70 years. Yep, I used it when I was virtually a small kid. Why? Because my dad used it. He called it sewing machine oil, and my mom used it for her old Singer sewing machine. Yeah, that was a long time back. Then, it was the only oil we used to prevent rust and lubricate everything in the house or garage. It was the same for all my friends. I used it on guns, toys, tools, the lawn mower, knives, sharpening stones, garage doors, the swamp cooler, metal windows, and just about anything that was metal and didn’t move correctly. I also coated metal to stop rust, especially on tools. A couple of drops on the tool, wipe it all over, then take a rag and wipe it off leaving a trace of oil on tool to prevent rust. I never have to use a lot because it works very well. Now our civilization has invented a bewildering array of lubricants that are pushing out the “old” stuff. Well, I’ve used nearly every one of those new lubricants and I can’t tell much difference from 3&1 oil. WD 40 sprays on and dries after a while which is convenient and really good for areas that are hard to reach. I used newer products to protect the top of my table saw, because oil comes off on the wood, and machinery that will collect dirt or debris on oiled areas, or areas where the oil will run off and make a mess somewhere else, or in special cases like cutting oil, but for overall use on everyday items I still use 3&1. It works great and the cost is low compared to a lot of other options. I highly recommend this product. AD2
