Easy to use and dependable.
The Gist: Look no further if you're looking for a practical and durable capo. The Story: After playing guitar for a few years, I noticed this interesting little clamp that some guitarist would have on their guitars. I wasn't sure what it was for, so (like most reasonable internet users) I searched a few YouTube videos for how and why to use it. Needless to say, I saw how cool this little device was and how it could really add new sounds to my playing. The Details: You can't get too complicated when it comes to a device that is meant to hold down strings on a fretboard. Surprisingly, I've had experiences with some capo that do just that - they complicate this simple design in hopes of creating something "more useful." This capo does the job simply and does it well. The trigger/spring action is very comfortable on this model. It makes for easy maneuvering, while providing a strong hold on the strings. The rubber padding is durable. I've had two of these for years, and they have never needed replacement (I've only replaced them when I lost them). Just an overall good product. The Verdict: For the casual to performance level musician who needs a dependable capo for when you want to play a C in G formation, go with the Jim Dunlop 83CB.

Very good capo--Excellent for quick-changing.
I've used every kind of capo in existence (OK--a little exaggerated) from rubber bands and a ballpoint pen to the old-fashioned swing-gate-and-turnscrew types, and most of them work pretty well. But If you're looking for something you can grab and mount, something you can quickly shift from one fret to another, even during a tune, this is one of the best. There are other fast-mount capos that work pretty well, but others have a tendency to twist in one's hand (well, in MY hand) when you are shifting them, or they make you bring your hand over the edge of fretboard to grab them. This one is easy and pretty foolproof. It is also strong enough to use on a 12-string, which not all spring-type clamps will handle. That might be its one drawback, though--it's a pretty firm clamp-down, and you will get a little "sharpening," particularly of the lower (heavier) strings, because it really bottoms them out hard between frets. (This is where the screw-down ones may be better). On the other hand, if you have it on,say, the third fret, and have properly tuned to compensate for the capo, then shifting it one or two frets in either direction won't make as much difference. There are spring-type capos that claim to eliminate the note-raising effect, but I haven't been too impressed with them--and this one beats them all for quick-changing.

Great quality Capo
Very good quality and works as it should. Easy on, easy off. Puts good pressure on strings and results in no buzzing of strings. Very happy with purchase. I’m confused by all the reviews that state it was a knock off Capo that didn’t work very well. Definitely not my purchase.

Just perfect
This is a perfect guitar capo. I can't really understand how this item can receive less than a 5 stars review. It's made by Dunlop, which is the highest standard in musical accessories, and it does what it is supposed to be doing just perfectly. Dunlop is an American company with headquarters in Benicia, CA. The package of this item does not specify if it is made in the USA or elsewhere, though. All guitar players have good hand muscles, so there is absolutely no problem handling this capo. This is not an issue. This product is a trigger capo acoustic, which means it is designed for acoustic or classic guitars. However, it works perfectly fine in both my acoustic and electric guitar. I highly recommend this capo to everybody. I hope this review helps. Thanks for reading.

Le capo est un peu rigide mais quand même facile d'utilisation. Il est aussi bien joli!

I got this capo many years back and it’s been excellent. It’s quite expensive so I made the mistake of trying some cheap Chinese copies and badly regretted it. If you want it to last go with the Dunlop. It is quite stiff so you need some strength to release it. Perhaps not for small kids then.
