Jericho Season 4

The Jericho story continues! For those unlucky enough not to be familiar with it, Jericho is the 2006-2008 television show about the aftermath of a nuclear event in the United States and its effect on a group of people in a small Kansas town. Season Four begins with Jake Green and Robert Hawkins returning to Jericho, for which both are extremely happy. But things in the outside world are anything but peaceful. The country itself is neatly split into two rival camps by the Mississippi River; the eastern section of the country calling itself the USA, while the western states are now called the Allied States of America. While separate nations, both the USA and ASA have the same problems: food is scarce, relief aid is sporadic, lawlessness is epidemic, a plague has begun to spread, and a war with the other is looming. So while our two heroes have succeeded in their mission from Season Three, they find themselves trapped into a political plot that could reveal the villains behind the September nuclear bombings, topple a government, start a revolution, and get everyone they care about killed! Like the previous comic collection, Jericho: Season Four is plotted by the creative team behind the television series. This consistence in writing remains the strong point of this collection, as the story continues without any deviation from the previous plot lines with all the familiar characters included in the goings-on in Jericho. And while the tone of the story changes a bit, it is still 100% Jericho with several lingering mysteries beginning to be answered. There were a couple of problems with this collection, however. One, the artwork was not a strong point. One issue would be great, and then the next would feature a different artist who might not live up to the high stands this series has exhibited in the past. In fact, there were a few times in the story where the heads of the characters appeared to be “photoshopped” onto a body. Something that did not work at all and really ruined the whole visual presentation. Lucky, though, these problems were sporadic enough not to derail the story. Two, the story was slow. There are lots of conversations between characters, lots of plotting what to do next, but not much action. Not that dialogue is a bad thing, mind you, but here the talking seemed to be setting up plots for future stories rather than tying into what was currently going on. With those criticism outlined, however, a Jericho story with problems is better than no Jericho story at all, so I’d encourage any fan of the show to pick this one up. And for those unfamiliar with the show, get on Netflix and try it out!

Sadly, there is still a cliff-hanger, but if you're a true fan, you're going to hang on to every last second that you can. This volume accelerated the story nicely and I enjoyed reading it. I don't think I'll hold my breath for a Season 5, but I would be happy if one appears. The artwork in this volume is phenomenal - very close to the real characters.

We were among the thousands who were disappointed that Jericho was not picked up for a third season. Even thought the producers threw together a second season to kind of tie up the threads, there were still a lot of questions. I was delighted to find that "comic" books had been written to get the story to finally come to an end. Unfortunately that did not happen. Season 3 and Season 4 books left more questions. I am hoping for a Season 5 book. My husband and I enjoyed the books, although I was confused at times with characters who looked similar. It was a challenge to tell them apart in their looks. It was easy to recognize the familiar characters from the TV series, but new characters were a little hard to tell the difference between. I would recommend Season 3 and 4 books to give Jericho fans a little more information. But you're still not going to get closure.

I really have enjoyed the Jericho series. I wish it was still put into a tv show. The characters are awesome, believable. The plot rings a bell, especially in today's climate of chaos and unrest.

Get Season 3 and 4. These are graphic novels not simply comics and they paint an interesting picture of how Jericho would have proceeded if it continued on TV. We meet "Him." The man who launched the events that lead to the bombing. We're introduced to the to all that happened to "Him," how his thoughts and perception were molded, and how he arrives at his final judgment that life as we know it in the US should be wiped clean.

If you have seen the TV series Jericho, then these books are must. This one is of course season 4. Excellent artwork and story. It is cool to be able to recreate the show in your head, even with only having illustrations. I hope they continue this series Make sure to get season 3 as well, which is known as Civil War. This is an amazing story!

My wife and I got into this show long after it was off the air (I love Netflix and the ability to find new gems). Even though we knew it was coming, we were crushed to find out that there was no ending to the show. These graphic novels do a great job continuing the story.

I almost gave this book 3 stars because I felt a little gipped. It was shorter than Season 3 for basically the same price ($1 cheaper) It has good movement and story development. I just wish it were a little longer. I decided to stick with a 4 rating because it moved the story along and I got engrossed in the story. My only question is, Can someone please create Season 5 and wrap this story up?!

it arrived when it said it should in good condition why this program was ever cancelled is beyond me and they did it twice!!! thank goodness the guys behind this brilliant program has brought you this amazing comic book,they have done the characters right i hear them as i read the book,the big test for me is in a few years will i remember the comic book as a comic or as an live action episode if the later which i am sure it will be then even better job than i have just given them credit for.this is a 5 star rating as across the broad is to the highest standard,cant wait for the next season

Season 3 nicht gelesen haben* Nachdem Jake und Hawkins den Drahtzieher der Ereignisse aus einem Hochsicherheitsgefängnis befreit, offensichtlich erfolgreich ihren Tod vorgetäuscht und Jericho erreicht haben, widmen sich alle Beteiligten mit Höchstgeschwindigkeit ihrem Plan, die "Cheyenne"-Regierung zu entlarven. Obwohl sie sich bewusst sind, dass John Smith mit aller Wahrscheinlichkeit ganz eigene Ziele verfolgt, sind sie auf seine Möglichkeiten angewiesen, die unter anderem im Zugriff auf die genauen Planungen der Invasion der freien Staaten und wichtige militärische Komplexe der ASA bestehen. Doch die Alliierten Staaten haben inzwischen erfolgreich einen Maulwurf in Jericho installiert, der die Bemühungen zunichte machen und die Rebellen frühzeitig unschädlich machen soll. Währenddessen haben Stanley und Mimi auf der Richmond-Farm ganz andere Probleme, denn eine texanische Kampfgruppe hat sich auf ihrem Grundstück breit gemacht und ironischerweise scheint ausgerechnet Dale Turner der einzige zu sein, der die Situation zu einem unblutigen und zufriedenstellenden Ergebnis für alle bringen kann. Als dann auch noch Hawkins von Truppen der ASA geschnappt wird, droht die Situation zu eskalieren. Season 4 nimmt sich viel Zeit für die Entfaltung des Planes, der schließlich den entscheidenden Schlag gegen die ASA einleiten soll. Das man dabei irgendwann die Übersicht verliert, wer gerade gegen wen opportuniert oder wer denn nun von was weiß und in den Plan im Plan eines Plans eingeweiht ist, verzeiht man aber dank der Kurzweiligkeit gerne und schnell. Erzählerisch kann man dem Band somit nicht viel vorwerfen, aber auf künstlerischer Ebene ergibt sich ein seltsames Potpourri an unterschiedlichen Zeichenstilen, die leider nicht alle sonderlich gelungen sind und nachhaltig die Atmosphäre ein wenig ruinieren - z.B. sind die Figuren manchmal arg minimalistisch gezeichnet, an anderer Stelle experimentiert man mit nahezu fotorealistisch erscheinenden Gesichtern, die aber auf gröber gezeichneten Körpern sitzen und von den Proportionen her arg seltsam bzw. unnatürlich wirken. Als kleiner Bonus findet sich wieder eine Galerie mit diversen Grafiken. Ein weiterer Wermutstropfen besteht in dem durchaus spannenden Cliffhanger am Ende, der leider das vorläufige Ende der "Jericho"-Comics zu bedeuten scheint, denn eine fünfte Comic-Season ist bisher nicht am Horizont aufgetaucht, was aber durchaus daran liegen kann, dass sich der verantwortliche US-Sender CBS tatsächlich mit einem Revival der TV-Serie befassen könnte...was die Warterei schon glatt wert sein kann. Für Season 4 gibt es aber, abzüglich der genannten künstlerischen Schwächen, solide vier Sterne. PS: Die Rezension bezieht sich auf das Softcover, nicht auf die Kindle-Edition, die fälschlicherweise als erworbenes Produkt angezeigt wird.
