SSCP Systems Security Certified Practitioner All-in-One Exam Guide, Third Edition

Darril Gibson is a phenomenal writer and clearly an expert in the field. This book, which I read cover to cover, was actually entertaining, beautifully pieced together, and enjoyable due to the writing style. I earned the CC a couple of months ago and just passed the SSCP exam using ONLY this AIO guide. I looked at a handful of the online options and they were all extremely boring. They also didn't cover the depth and breadth of this book, which I believe you need. The exam was as tricky as any other ISC2 exam, and you need to know your stuff for sure. So happy I went this route!

I like that it’s in depth but not so in depth that it’s confusing. I think buying a book through a good, respected educational publisher will ensure the writing is clear. A good publisher translates the author’s thoughts and vast knowledge in such a way that a newbie or student can understand more easily. I have two books by this author (different exams) and I prefer a little more expensive and thorough in contrast to less expensive and vague. But if your mind works well with bullet-point and highlight-type of information while reading then you don’t need a good publisher who draws out explanations. The latter type of reading makes my mind wander more so it ends up being more work for me.

pros:Good book if you want to pass SSCP. Exam notes are great for remembering keywords.Cons:There are concepts that are in the official guide and not in this one, such as the types of fire extinguishers

I recently passed the SSCP exam using this book and online practice exams and online videos. Take the online exams over and over - don't worry too much about scoring 90% on the practice exams. Use this book to reference what you missed and then take a quiz with only the questions you missed. Spend 6 weeks doing this and you will pass. The Official SSCP practice exams are the best and most challenging. Kaplan exams would be second and the questions in this book are third as far as preparation goes. They are all valuable because they help you look at the questions in different ways, more than one voice. Once you begin to understand concepts and have a grasp of the technical details you will be fine. Good luck.

Thanks to this book I passed my SSCP after about two weeks of study.I'll be using this author and ISC2 to compare which is better for CISSP.

Excellent material passed using this and the study guide in two weeks of studying hard. Prefer this over the other subbed tbooks I’ve used those for years and nothing tops McGraw hill. Going to be using them for CYSA+ and Cloud+ next.

This is the one book you need to read for SSCP certification. Reading enabled me to pass on the first attempt. I also watched PluralSight's SSCP course, but in hindsight it may not have been necessary. What's more advisable is taking the Kaplan practice exam that comes with the PluralSight course. Kaplan really provides an experience as close to taking the exam as one could get without actually having taken questions directly from it.

Great overview of the material but I would highly recommend a practice exam book by Sybex or reading other material along with this. All in one is a bit misleading as if this was the only material I had read, I would have failed.

It came used with pen marking and highlights. I returned it.

Livro com leitura de bom entendimento, intuitivo com exemplos e figuras, tópicos bem divididos... nota 10, recomendo até mesmo pra quem não tiver o intuito de realizar o exame de certificação SSCP, pois a quantidade de conhecimento a se adquirir é bastante útil pra qualquer um que queira se aprofundar nas áreas de TI
