Saxon Math Homeschool 6/5: Tests and Worksheets

This is a great resource for 4th grade! As a homeschool mom, I’m very impressed with the quality and effectiveness of these tests and worksheets.

My son is going into 6th grade. He is struggling in math. I ordered this work book and the textbook that accompanies it because I used it when I taught 5th grade 10 years ago. It teaches a new concept, then spirals back and reviews foundational concepts. This workbook arrived timely and in excellent condition.

As a new home schooler, I like the Saxon system which provides all the information and materials we need. This book has the tests and work sheets so you know when to give the tests and when to do the practice sheets. This is a three part system with the Solutions manual with all the answers, the Tests and Worksheets, and the actual textbook. I had already purchased the non home school version of the textbook but it seems the other two match up perfectly with that version so I didn't buy the home school version of the textbook.

I had Saxon when I was homeschooled, and really learned a lot from it. Now I am teaching and Saxon and it's the way to go. I really think the extra worksheets are a help even though they take a little bit more time. The repetition of the work sheets will ingrain the facts into the 5th grader's mind. I do recommend you also find the accompanying Dive DVD, just make sure you get the same version as your books. :)

I love how Saxon makes teaching my son math at home so easy because of the facts practice tests, tests (every five lessons), and the easy to print out test forms!

My grandson loves seeing his time improving on the warmup sheets. I love that there is lots of repetition and how the builds on previous pages.

Comprehensive and thorough, this is an incremental approach to math covering everything needed to succeed in high school and on the SATs.

The first one I ordered was written in throughout the book and although this one was new the paper was yellowed. I'm not sure if this is just the quality of the paper used or if it's just yellowed from being old!
