Good value.
I am using this lens with my Canon 6d. Canon's own 50mm f1.8 STM is a little sharper, but for the money the Yongnuo is still plenty sharp. Wide open it struggles a bit, but it sharpens up significantly stopped down. It's got a plastic body, but the lens mount is metal. I haven't noticed any distortion problems, but I must admit I didn't really test for them. For seventy-something dollars, it's a good deal. It's well finished and looks good in white.

Not usable in some circumstances.
Unusable on my 7D II Mk II. Will not autofocus, does not report when focus is achieved manually, and thus the shutter will not fire. At all. It actually causes the camera body to ‘freeze up’. By this I mean that the body will not respond when a valid Canon EF or EF-S is mounted in place until I perform a cold reboot- pull battery and reinsert. It seems to function normally on my 6D II Mk II.

The motor takes a long time to focus.
This is my first prime lens. I feel that it is a value at this price point.

Well worth it for the price!
This lens is by far worth every cent! My shots where taken on a canon sl2. There was alot of fog in the sky but really got sharp pics. Little slow on the focus but hell for this price. Definetly my go to for strolls in the hills.
