Based in Budbuda, Uttar Pradesh, Billu (Irrfan Khan) barely makes a living as a barber. His wife Bindiya (Lara Dutta), looks after the household. His two kids are about to be expelled from a school due to non-payment of fees. His uneventful life changes when Bollywood actor Sahir Khan (Shahrukh Khan) comes to Budbuda for shooting. Billu casually tells his family members that Sahir is his childhood friend. When his kids boast of their father's friendship with the Superstar, word spreads everywhere. Billu becomes a celebrity overnight. His shop gets donations and clientele. The school offers free education to his children. The trouble begins when villagers want to meet Sahir but Billu consistently fails to introduce them to Sahir. He is treated as liar. Even his wife and kids begin to doubt his character and integrity. Does Billu really know Sahir.

More of Irfan movie than SRK
It is a story of a poor barber who works hard to make ends meet for his family of four. The villagers come to know that he knows a superstar who has come to his village to shoot, a fact he evades. Later the villagers believe that his acquaintance of superstar was mere grapevine due to which the poor barber becomes a laughing stock. It is like contemporary Krishna-Sudama story. A good movie to watch with your family. Though the Blu-ray quality was not very different from the DVD of same movie I have.

Original but not great
The storyline is original but yet something is missing. It's not one of my favourite movie while having some interesting points in it. The end is good. Maybe the movie is too slow at some point.

bad quality dvd
the dvd quality was bad, we saw it with difficulty, slow in certain point, bad sound in other . We enjoy the mouvie, not the best of Sharuk Khan, but at the end we were satisfied.
