Perfect “starter” bike!
Easy to assemble (most of it arrives already complete). Bought it for our 5 year old grandson and it passes the critical test: he LOVES IT!!

Boys, BMX Style, Schwinn Koen & Elm 18" bike
Purchased both Boys & Girls 18 inch models for grandkids as Xmas gifts. The fork had a manufacturer's defect in the welding, contacted Schwinn and they sent replacement the next day; I was very impressed with the customer service. The bike is well constructed, comes with the training wheels; my grandson loves his bike.

18" Great bike for my 5 year old!
We were in the trenches with the first two kids and bought used and cheap bikes. But for the 3rd kid it's nothing but the best! ;) He started on a Strider and then a 14" RoyalBaby brand bike (LOVED that bike for an early learner/Strider transition bike at 3!!!) He is 5 now and needed something bigger and it was a debate between a bigger RoyalBaby or this Schwinn. I read reviews for both and decided to take a chance on this one. We've only had it for two days but so far so good. My husband put it together but it was pretty easy. He didn't even look for directions until it came time to get the handlebars on and had a question. Docking one star due to it not coming with an allen wrench and we couldn't find ours at the time. So that was a tad inconvenient. Assembly took about 20 minutes max.Pros: 18" Great size for my average size 5 year old. Debated between the 16" and 18" and went with the 18" and glad we did! The handlebars will also raise up to continue to grow with my child and the seat raising!Caliper handlebar brakes AND coaster brake!Kickstand! Not all that come with training wheels have this and since we don't need the training wheels, I was happy to see we didn't need to buy an additional kickstand.Feels sturdy. Nice weight- not too heavy in bike standards and not too cheap feeling.Cons: No allen wrench included for convenient assembly. Kickstand is very hard for my 5 year old get in position, though I'm not sure that's a con for the bike or just my child's age/ability.I will update this review if any of these thoughts change, but so far so good! My son HAD to have a blue bike and I'm glad we went straight from a 14" to this 18" model as he can handle it well now and it will continue to grow with him. He's been riding it two days straight!

Highly recommend the 18”
I bought this for my 5 year old grandson. It exceeded my expectations. The packaging was great! I really liked the options such as, hand brakes and pedal brakes and training wheels, as well as, a kick stand. Those options are up to the 18” tires which is what I chose and the 20” does not offer training wheels. Best of all he liked the bike too and took to the hand brakes immediately. Seems very sturdy and should last him a couple years minimum before growing out of it. Highly recommend.

Great quality
This is the second bicycle I get from the same brand and the quality is great. Not sure what is it but I already wrote a review earlier this year when I bought this bicycle.

Missing part, damaged box, brakes not aligning
This bicycle is notably cheaper than my daughter’s Schwinn purchased from a store. I expected it to be both easy to put together and ready to go once assembled. The directions are foolishly complicated, when in truth, following common sense will have it together in quick time. Also, many of the tips in the direction are unhelpful or confusing. For example, when assembling the handlebars it references a photo to ensure you have the brake wires in the correct spot, but there are no brake wires in the photo. In my case, a screw was missing from the hand brake, so it spins in place on the handlebar. Also, the front brake shifts from side-to-side on the post and doesn’t touch the wheel. I followed the directions to adjust the brakes without luck. It’s as tight as it can get on the post but still moves. When centered, it doesn’t touch the wheel. Also, one hand brake is too tight and the other is loose. The headache of reaching out to customer service to get the missing screw but also having to troubleshoot and figure out the brakes isn’t worth it. I’d rather pay an extra $50 or more and have bought it assembled and ready to go from a store. (My daughters was bought from a store, assembled, and adjusted to her for $45 more for a better quality bike.) I’m really disappointed with the purchase, but deterred by the effort to return it. I’m frustrated by the additional time it will take to figure out the brakes and obtain the missing screw too. Truly considering paying a local store to troubleshoot as my kiddo is pumped for using the bike, but it needs brakes to safely be used. (There was also a small Knick in the paint from the box being damaged in transit.)

Love it! A++
I really don’t understand all the negative reviews on this bike, If you don’t have any knowledge with putting minimal bike parts together it is definitely not the bike’s fault it has nothing to do with the company. The bike is great, solid & looks good .. Of course you should tighten everything up before letting your child ride the thing it’s COMMON SENSE THE BIKE CAME IN A BOX!.. But overall great quality bike & extremely well priced.. a++
