Log Cabin Table Syrup, All Natural , 22 oz

mmmmmmThey used to sell this in our local grocery stores but stopped carrying it.We used to get maple flavored agave until we found this - rice syrup based and sooooo much better than real maple syrup or the flavored agave.This doesn't crash blood sugar or have any blood sugar loopy effects for us and the flavor is awesome. So on the spot yet subtle. So glad to have found it online!

The product had shipping tape across a broken cap. Received in an altered state.

It was just like I have always ate before.

The thickness and value of this syrup are fine, however, we had the same experience as 2012 Reviewer, Amy (see below). When I poured this syrup on my father-in-law's pancakes this morning, I was disgusted to see a slimy chunk of something come out of the bottle and onto the pancake. I picked the slimy piece up with a fork and placed it on a paper plate so that it I could see it better. It looked to me like a dead moth. I decided then to pour the remaining contents of the bottle into a clear glass jar, so I could see if there was more slimy stuff in the syrup. To my dismay, there was more. I have attached two pictures of the syrup that I poured into the glass jar this morning, and like the other reviewer, Amy, I would suggest filtering, or at least pouring it into a clear bowl or jar before using it - just to make sure there is nothing in it that isn't supposed to be there.

First of all, this 22oz syrup "natural" Log Cabin GMO Verified syrup same packaging and size is only 5 dollars and change at the grocery store. Second, there are no "bits of leaves" or "pieces" of anything in the long time I've bought it as a reviewer writes.The syrup is lightly sweet, not overly thick which tends to break pancakes and you overuse and waste product when that is the case. It has a delicate and pleasant taste and If i wouldn't see the bottle I would swear it has maple which it does not.The ingredients are so simple and healthy! I just love this in between Bob's Red Mill multi-grain pancakes topped with Smuckers raspberry preserves! Get yourself a ceramic coated skillet which is incredibly non-stick and you're complete. Tastes better than anything you can get at a restaurant.

Syrup is great, tastes like caramel....no maple of any kind. Posted because it costs 5 bucks at Walmart and is hideously overpriced here even with shipping.

If you don't want to spend a mint for real maple syrup or don't prefer maple flavor, this is an excellent option. Delicious on pancakes, I wish it came in a larger size. As others have said, buy it locally, it's too pricey here.

The flavor is good, and the price is right, but is it really that hard to filter it out? It's disgusting! It seems like every time I pour some onto my food, I get small pieces of leaves or... something. Once, I swear it was a bug. But it sits in the sugar so long that it breaks down almost completely so it's hard to tell. But still... gross.
