Excellent Yale Lock, Enough Keys For The Family!.
Excellent product. Easy to fit. Comes with 6 keys so each family member can have a key (well done Yale!!). It was cheaper for me to replace the door lock than go and get 1 key cut at £9 or 3 for £18 from a well known high street shop.

Oh dear, here am I writing the first one-star review for this product. Having read all the glowing reviews which prompted me to purchase, how I wish it could be otherwise.I decided it was time to replace the rim cylinder on my front door because it is (please note the use of the present tense) sticking and, being chrome, looks at odds with all the other, brass, furniture on my front door. Having checked the dimensions of the cylinder and the thickness of the door, I ordered from Amazon direct, knowing that I would not have to do any hacksawing. Great, I thought, a ten-minute installation; and so it should have been, if it was not for the fact that one of the lugs in the cylinder-housing would not accept either screw bolt; yes, I tried both! In a few millimetres then, stop. Seething, I contacted Amazon who arranged an immediate replacement. However, instead of the next-day delivery I had come to expect with Amazon replacements, it was to be by Super Saver Delivery which takes 3 to 5 business days. I objected and it was immediately changed to next-day, when it did, indeed, arrive. As things transpired, I'm glad I stuck out for that because, yes, you guessed it, the replacement was faulty in exactly the same way, except that this time the bolt would not even begin to enter the lug. Not only that, but the face of the cylinder was badly scratched, which doesn't really surprise me considering the way all the bits rub together inside the blister pack, metal on metal, without protection! So, this one goes back for a refund (no more than one replacement is allowed on Amazon) while the situation is investigated to determine whether or not the current stock is a faulty batch. I was assured that this is done to prevent inconvenience to customers, including myself. In light of this, I queried why the product was still up for sale on the product description page whereupon, it was placed 'under review' and temporarily removed from the site. Boom! Boom!Update: 25.09.2013. From one to five starsHaving re-ordered, today I received my third lock and discovered it to be exactly the same as the previous two! So much for Amazon's policy of withdrawal while the item is reviewed; this one was clearly from the same batch. Third time lucky for me though. If you bother to read the comments, you will learn that I was not forceful enough. Knowing now what I had to do, I made sure the left-hand screw was aligned with the right and used a bit of force; ten minutes later the lock was installed. A very nice lock it is too and all the door furniture is now in brass. Also, the keys are superb with a nice heavyweight feel to them, unlike those thin lightweight copies one gets cut! When I emailed Amazon about them apparently continuing to send out the faulty batch, they promptly offered a couple of quid refund, so I suppose a nice brass lock with six keys for GBP 8.74 isn't bad, but what a journey to get there. Boom! Boom!
