Festool 494939 Domino Tenon, Beech Wood 6 x 20 x 40mm, 190-Pack

They're Festool dominos. Enough said. Festool stuff is expensive but you know what you are getting when buying the brand. It's also nice to know that their prices are regulated across all of their vendors, so you always know that you are getting the best/same deal as everyone else and not missing out on a deal somewhere.

Great product, I used several hundred of these on my last project and I’ve got to say it was a lot of fun. Makes for a solid joint, I’m looking forward to my next project and my new Festool Domino machine will be put to good use.

These are super strong and consistently sized. What else could you ask for?

I found you must take moisture ( humidity ) steps to keep these from swelling and not fitting. I open the bag and pour them into a Rubbermaid container that seals. That works great and keeps them in one place. I have found that sometimes you must run the sides over a sanding block a couple swipes to make them slide in the slot when you dry fit the parts to check fit. Otherwise you will have trouble getting them back out to install glue. I would like to see the flat sides indents to be deeper for better glue up. It's easier than making my own tenons also, and better than biscuits. This tool has made mortise and tenons so easier and fast. What more can I say?

I wish I had the time and energy to make my own tenons to use with my domino joiner. But I don't. These fit perfect every time, are delivered fast, and if used with the proper amount of glue, are super strong. Buy them in bulk, better price and you will be more likely to turn to this tool which is never a mistake. I use a small paint brush to apply glue in the mortise and on the tenon. Much better technique to lightly cover all surfaces to be glued than to just squeeze the glue in the mortise and hope that it will cover well.

These are tenons used with the Festool Domino 500 mortise cutter. They are much easier than making your own to fit the mortises cut by the machine. The tenons are very strong, consistent in size and easy to use. They make great joints in wood, usable for furniture, jigs and many other applications. Much stronger and more precise than biscuits.These are replacements for the first batch I bought with the machine, which I have almost used up.

It's a wooden domino to supplement the festool domino cutter. They were perfectly in combination.

I've yet to see a generic version of Festool's Domino floating mortices and I'm not inclined to make my own which would not have all the detailed features. Perhaps they are patented. So I pay Festool's fancy price but they are all perfectly made and fit well.

Probably a bit pricy considering they are just elongated dowels, but they are good quality and it’s not worth my time to make my own.
