Perfect for oxy-acetylene and fits my face shield. Rigid and durable.

I was looking for a face shield I could use for grinding and plasma cutting. Face shields with a fold down #5 shield were $40 and up. I bought the 3M face shield (part 90028-80025) for $11 and this #5 shield for $13. I drilled 2 holes in the upper portion of the shield and it screwed and fit right on like it belonged there! $24 total for a nice shield for grinding and plasma!

I have never seen into my foundry or forge without the InfraRed brightness. This filters all the IR light so it looks like a nice summer day in the forge. Now I can really see what's happening with my steel billet when I'm forge welding. GAME CHANGER. The color is awesome too.

I have a lot of weed whacker work and have been absolutely pelted by rocks and sticks in my face. I looked into getting a stihl mask but they were too expensive and too heavy for the weather. This thing is light weight, well made, and never fogs. It fits like a welders mask and adjusts really nice around your head. It sits firm and has never fallen off. There is an easy to operate dial to adjust to your big head. It also saved my chiseled face from huge rocks and didn't crack the shield. Note: I never leave feedback as I get asked a day later after stuff arrives. Really?!? You want feedback on things that need to be tested and I get an email wanting it right away? I've used this around 6-7 times and I'm happy with it. Therefore, I would recommend it and happily buy again. Thanks, Steve

I had written a review of this face shield and thought it was not suitable for gas welding mainly because the #5 shade was not wide enough to cover the field of view but after using it a few times I realized I was wrong and there's a way of adjusting it so you can comfortably see through the #5 shade. I now believe this face shield can be a very capable shield and very comfortable to use, if you spend a few minutes and fine tune the headband adjustment. I now give it 5 stars and highly recommend it for gas welding, if I ever damage or scratch the shield(s) , I will not hesitate to order the replacement part(s) from this company, it is well made, comfortable and easy to adjust/use.
