Perfect for cat castle post renovation!
I sought the right product for my cat castle post renovation, and expected to need it again, so I bought that many yards(am sharing with friends, too). This was excellent value, and non-toxic. It's thicker than the rope that came with the castle, but that will be good for kitty. Great product! Mixed Elmer's Glue and water to install it.

Works great for cat trees
Our cat tree had been ravaged by our cats - most of the rope had come off and they were clawing into the cardboard underneath.I ordered a couple of rolls of this to repair the tree and it worked great. We covered the existing cardboard legs on the tree with new cardboard tubes slit down the side, then I used a hot glue gun to anchor the rope over it. 2 of these rolls took care of the bottom level of the kitty tree, and I will order 2 more for the top level. The rope is "raw" - no waxing or chemicals that I could discern. Cats like it fine.Much less expensive than replacing the entire cat tree.

Great sturdy product
I bought this as a replacement for my cat's scratching post. It works great, actually much better than the rope that first came with the post, that my cat destroyed. I couldn't be happier with this rope and the length was perfect I still have some left over.

Its lasting great and no carpet pieces everywhere
Used this to wrap a cat post that used to have carpet. used to since the cats ripped it to shreds. They log to scratch this stuff even more than the carpet. I used a wide head nail to start it, then after so many wraps i would use some liquid nails to keep it in place, then another wide head screw for the bottom. Its lasting great and no carpet pieces everywhere.

Got a picky cat? Be careful about getting this one.
I got this rope to replace the rope that snapped from a scratching post I bought for my little siamese kitty with razor sharp claws. This rope is thick and sturdy, but my siamese is VERY picky... so when he saw that there were fibers coming off the rope that bother his paws when he scratches it, he turned his nose up at it and continued to claw my couch. Make sure you know how sensative your cat's paws are BEFORE you purchase this rope. I've had no problem with the product as it is, it's just my cat being picky.

Awesome
I originally complained about the packaging because this rope came bundled a different way and I thought it would have creases that made the rope hard to work with. I was COMPLETELY wrong. I used this rope to glue to cardboard and then inlay it into a headboard that had been built onto a wall. The rope worked amazing and bonded with the hot glue IMMEDIATELY. Finished product looks beautiful. I would use this rope for other projects as well. And you cannot beat this price. I ordered 200 feet more so I would have enough to finish the project and have the rope for other projects.

I Believe this Rope is TREATED, not Untreated
Buyer beware! I purchased this rope to replace the sisal on one of our cat scratchers, and specifically chose it because the product description states that it is "untreated" rope. It took me two seconds after removing the rope from the envelope it was in to become VERY suspicious regarding this claim. The smell is VERY strong, and it's a specifically chemical smell, not just the strong smell of rope. I made the mistake of purchasing treated sisal once before, and my cats would not go near it. This rope smells worse than that. I am returning it, and in my reason for return I selected "inaccurate product description". I then received a reply from the seller stating the following: "The plant fibers make naturals as they dry out. That smell is the natural oil's in the rope. Do you still want to return it?". I am not going to dispute this further because I can not prove without a doubt that the rope is treated. However, you know a strong chemical (not natural) smell when you smell it, and this rope smells like a toxic dump. I have to cover the return postage myself because "technically" the seller is not at fault. From now on I will purchase untreated sisal from an actual pet supply store.

Treated with some kind of chemical product
I needed this natural rope for making bird toys, but when I opened it, it had a very strong chemical smell, like solvent or petroleum product of some sort, so I didn't feel like I could use it for my birds after all. Disappointing.
