Bumblebee (Blu-ray) [2018] [Region Free]

I've long considered Transformers 2 and 3 two of the worst films of all time so I was VERY reluctant to watch Bumblebee. I am very very glad that I did. This film is charming, exciting, touching and hilarious. This is exactly the film I would have watched 100 times over as a kid. Honestly it is a pure joy with a likeable cast, brilliant soundtrack and exciting action scenes that thankfully avoid Bayhem (That opening scene is what should have got in 2007) The film is presented widescreen with Dolby Atmos sound and this is showcase stuff - it looks and sounds UNBELIEVABLE on Blu Ray. It also comes with a slipcover. Features add up to approximately 1 hour and the film features English Audio, English SDH and English subtitles.

Dvd arrived in perfect condition. Happy with my purchase.

This will generate so many mixed reviews im sure, but myself, my fiance and son, all loved this movie. It finally felt like it tapped into the original G1 Transformers world a little more than Bays other films. Its altogether less full on action, more comedic, heart warming. It has a better link to the original universe and just brought the 80s vibe with it. Its so much more satisfying to watch and i hope for a sequel or origin story for some other characters.

A change of direction in the Transformers movie franchise. This is a prequel to the previous five films. It has a different director as well. Set in the 1980's, it tells the origin of Transformer Bumblebee. How, on a mission to Earth at the behest of Optimus Prime, he's left wounded and unable to speak. And has to find his place in this strange world. Meantime teenager Charlie [Hailee Steinfeld] is a little adrift in life as well, struggling to find her way again after personal tragedy. When she and Bumblebee meet, both might be exactly what the other needs. But the Deceptions are on the way... In addition to the flawless 80's setting - and all the robots look like their designs from that time, which should please fandome - it's like an 80's family adventure movie as well. Appealing leads, robots, government men on the case, and a fair bit of action and things exploding. It succeeds at this really well, without feeling like a throwback. Which is to say it's a period set movie that feels like something made in the present day. Hailee Steinfeld is superb, and carries the film all by herself really well. She makes Charlie a superbly likeable and sympathetic character. Wrestler turned actor John Cena does well in his government guy role, making him a three dimensional character with some depth rather than just a heavy. And it's all a very good watch. Just not quite five stars because there are times when the Transformer story feels a bit incidental, and if it's playing second fiddle to Charlies. But all in all, a nice little film, and the change of direction this franchise has needed in a while. Hopefully it can move on well from there. There's absolutely nothing after the end credits. Extras: Four featurettes, under the heading 'Bringing Bumblebee to the big screen.' The story of Bumblebee. A four min overview of the film. It's ok. The stars align. Seven mins about the cast and characters. It's good. Bumblebee goes back to G1. Eight mins about the look of the character. Interesting viewing. Back to the Beetle. Five mins about the look of Bumblebee. Also quite a good watch.

this film was well worth watching and when i saw this film it was as i expected it to be it was well put together and very funny in places my only problem with the film was the beginning and that was it looked to much like a cartoon but as the film progressed it turned out to be brilliant that is why i have given it a 5 star rating

Ich bin ein großer Fan der Transformers-Reihe und habe mich also sehr auf diesen Film gefreut. Kurz gesagt, ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Bumblebee ist ein toller Film, der sowohl Action als auch Humor und Herz bietet, was nach dem letzen Transformers (Last Knight) echt erfrischend war. Die Story ist spannend und emotional, die Charaktere sind echt sympathisch (Hailee Steinfeld war perfekt für die Rolle) und weitgehend glaubwürdig (obwohl ich John Cenas Rolle einfach nicht abkaufen konnte, da er einfach zu sehr "meme behaftet" ist) und die Effekte sind beeindruckend. Die 4K-Qualität ist hervorragend. Das Steelbook selbst ist eher Durchschnitt, verleiht der Sammlung aber dadurch eine elegante Note, da es nicht zu aufdringlich erscheint. Es zeigt eben leider nur ein Artwork von Bumblebee und ist somit nichts weltbewegendes. In der Hülle sieht es schon besser aus, mit Bee als Käfer. Was die Bildqualität betrifft, liefert die 4K Ultra-HD-Version von "Bumblebee" eine klasse visuelle Darstellung. Die Farben sind top und die Details passen auch. Bildtechnisch eine erstklassige UHD Disc. Aber es geht ja nicht nur um das visuelle Erlebnis – der Sound ist genauso beeindruckend. Der Dolby Atmos-Ton bietet eine immersiven Klanglandschaft, die einen mitten ins Geschehen zieht. Sofern man denn die passenden Lautsprecher dafür hat. Die Action Szenen sind durchaus kraftvoll und präzise. Also es ist wirklich ein Genuss, den Film mit einem guten Soundsystem zu schauen. Zumal deutscher Dolby Atmos Ton (ein guter) auch nicht Standard ist! Fazit: Ich persönlich kann die Steelbook-Edition von "Bumblebee" auf 4K Blu-ray jedem empfehlen, der Transformers liebt und eine hochwertige Veröffentlichung sucht. Hierbei lohnt sich nämlich wirklich das Upgrade zur 4K-Version, denn sowohl das visuelle als auch der klasse Sound macht den Film zu einem Must-Have für Fans, vor allem nach dem schwächerem "Last Knight". Letztendlich wurde mit Bumblebee wurde ein schöner Start in die neue Transformers-Reihe begonnen.
