I love this collar , if used properly it works great , I have used it on every dog I own , totally heel trained , total recall , don’t have to use shock , just putting the collar on he knows there are rules . I have moved off grid and it works well but he is 3 years old and has been wearing this collar forever . It does have a decent range , it does work in the woods but not always , I have only had to buy two , they last forever

great collar, my dog finally listens for once. We’ve just started using this collar for ourselves, though i used to work at a training facility that used them so i knew how they worked. I have an incredibly stubborn border collie who struggles with a solid heel and stay commands, as she wants to always be moving and exploring. This has been great and i finally was able to walk her on a leash and not have her pulling and trying to strangle herself on her collar. She had a solid loose leash walk and heel the entire time. We will be working on a reliable recall with distractions next. It’s very important that when getting a collar like this you either work with a trainer or already know how to desensitize and train a dog using an e collar and that they already know some commands that you can use to teach them that the collar is an extension of your voice. It’s a incredibly great tool for training and as an owner of a completely self trained stubborn border collie, it’s a great thing to have on hand.

I was very skeptical about buying a shock collar. My first three days were great. I absolutely loved it, then the collar no longer lined up with my charger. I called the company instead of returning it to Amazon. I spoke to a customer service representative who made me feel very comfortable with their service. She was friendly and knowledgeable about the situation. I was very impressed with their service and would certainly recommend using their products. Within 5 to 7 business days, I had a new collar. I watched the video and read the training manual. Now my dogs all walk leash free. The durability, vibration level, and functionality are excellent for stubborn dogs. It’s waterproof and easy to use. I want to say that it’s a one size fit all so don’t be afraid to use it on a small to medium size dog.

I’ve had the 425S for a few years now and love everything about it! The most reliable collar I’ve ever had... So, when I got a new puppy I was excited to try the new 425X. Sad to say I’m very disappointed with its performance. The battery life, vibration strength and remote are all great, however it is not reliable AT ALL. When I was training I noticed a huge inconsistency in my pup’s reactions. I tested it on myself before using it and initially it was fine. Following the first training session I decided to try out the collar on myself again as I didn’t understand why my pup was having such a strong reaction to the V/T function which should only vibrate. What I noticed made me cringe. Each time I pressed a button it would deliver a different action even though it was still on the same setting. I set it to V/T and after pressing the same button a few times instead of a vibration each time, a few times it actually gave off a shock. I set it to 1, then 2 and half the time it would vibrate, then the shock would be appropriate to the setting then out of nowhere it would be an equivalent of a 5-6 level shock. The only button that actually worked consistently and like it was supposed to was the tone button. Im beyond sad that I ever even used this on my pup as based on her reactions I can only imagine she got shocked pretty hard even though I had it set to V/T while training her. If you want a reliable collar - the 425S is great. If however you want to shock your dog for no reason whatsoever, then get the 425X.... Very surprised that there’s no recall on the 425x. Scary that this product is out there.

This one is hard, I want to give it 3 stars, but I went 4 as it does work well, and my dog responds well to it. My issue with it is battery life is TERRIBLE. I must remind myself to charge it every day or at a bare min every 2 days. And if you go beyond that it shuts itself off without warning and this is with little to no use. I mainly use this to monitor my dog off leash on our rural farm property to keep her out of zones I don’t want her in. I don’t use the static correction often if at all and mostly use the beep or tone. I use it maybe once or twice a day and it still dies. I had an older version from the early 2000s (Same brand) that used the rechargeable NIMH battery, and you would place it on the wall mounted charger, and it was fantastic and would last weeks. This is not the same and I wish I could have found a replacement battery for my old one instead, but I opted or a new unit. Just beware of the very small and weak batteries in these.

This is the Best dog E collar trainer hands down! Especially if you have a stubborn dog. Don’t waste money on other brands. I’ve tried several brands before finding this one. Only regret is not finding it sooner! The range on this is also amazing! Battery life is only about 2days, wish it was longer. Ease of remote is very easy

Works well, like the numerous settings

The remote controller stopped working in less than a year. Paid over $30 for a replacement battery and it still didn't work. A whole new remote cost $99. At that point it's almost as much as a while new collar. This was my second Sportdog collar and the first quit working as well.

This is a really nice collar. I would highly recommend it for quality alone. I was looking for one that had an auto bark shock or vibrate and this one did not.
