A “must have” to simplify and make coolant jobs less of a drag
I purchased one of these over three years ago and for the most part, it has been sitting on the shelf unused until tonight. I knew there would come a time when I needed to drain and replace the coolant in my BMW X5 and that time had arrived (I had to do a complete radiator replacement so while I was in there decided to flush and replace the coolant as well). Anyone who has ever replaced their coolant (on a BMW) knows how messy it is because there is never a direct path for the fluid. The stream splashes on everything on the way down and you end up with a rainfall of slimy, coolant dripping from 100 places underneath your car body and a huge mess to clean up. Not so with this baby!. I was able to bend the Form-a-Funnel into a “splash collecting shield”, wedge it up into the engine bay and direct 99.9% of the coolant into my catch bucket underneath with no messy underside cleanup needed. The coolant stream exited the block, hit the Form-a-Funnel, and was neatly directed into the catch bucket. I was dreading doing this job as I knew what a hassle it is wiping coolant droplets off the underside of my car. Those days have gone with the Form-a-Funnel. I was totally impressed with the time it saved me not having to clean up. I am very happy and highly recommend this product.

Flexible tool
I don't know if I'd call this a "funnel" by the exact definition of what I mean when I refer to a funnel. However, this is a very handy tool whatever you want to call it.First, I wouldn't call it a funnel, necessarily, because there's not a really perfect way to form this into a liquid-tight cylinder that you can slip into a hole to more easily put fluid in. There will always be the edges of the product that your liquids will attempt to seep through and not go into the place you'd like it to.But this tool is really handy in that it makes a perfect, formable surface that liquids can be guided down in a controllable manner. For example, to change the oil in my car, the oil filter is in a very bizarre place. After the oil filter is removed, oil drips down onto my suspension control arm and the oil stream diverges into 2-3 separate streams that I have to corral into one drip pan. With this tool, I can position it so the errant oil drips down one way and I don't have to move my drip pan in an attempt to catch everything -- I already have it set up.The surface on it is really easily cleanable. I just wipe it down and put it away for next time. Super easy.In all, it's a really great tool. I just don't know if I'd call it a "funnel" per se.

Bendable, sort of. But helpful.
Really wanted to give it a star or two more. But, I just couldn'tThe PIG form-a-funnel is a very helpful & handy tool. You can bend & roll it to your need. As far as it seems. It is a flexible type rubber coating with a flexible metal insert. You bend it to your liking & place it where you need it to direct the flow of fluid in the direction you need to go. It helps prevent fluids from getting onto other components that you would have to clean up after. And one thing I hate doing is spending more time & cleaner on a vehicle from oil spilling out due to the location of the filters & drain plugs on vehicles. The PIG form-a-funnel is very easy to clean. You can just wipe it with a shop towel & set it down. Or, if you want to get a little more into it. Spray it with brake cleaner & let it be. No staining or marking of any kind is left on it after cleaning. One end of the PIG form-a-funnel tapered down. This will be your end spill way for fluid. The other side would be more of your wrap/cover for where you're going to place it at the opening of the fluid coming out.The reason I didn't give it more stars. As much as you can bend it. You really can't bend it in certain ways without messing up the insert. I have a few dents in the insert now. A little more flexibility would help out a lot. And rolling it into a funnel can be messy. Since there is no seal end when it's rolled. Fluid can just come out from between it. You'll have to watch how you use it when rolled to make sure you don't have a mess after.Would I get another. Most likely! Since it does help from keeping an area clean. Though, it depends on what you're using it on & how tight of an area you're in.

I fell in love with this thing the first time I used it
I fell in love with this thing the first time I used it. I have several pieces of equipment (including a garden tractor, an oil-lubed air compressor, and a standby generator) that really like to make a mess when the oil and/or filter are drained. Oil usually catches some piece of frame or other item and goes everywhere. For years I've been making little cardboard "funnels" to get oil directed in the appropriate direction and save some clean-up time. Of course, these would be AWOL come next year so I had to start from scratch. I happened to run across the Form-A-Funnel and decided it was worth a try. I am happy to report that it's great. Changed the oil on my John Deere this morning and was able to catch both oil and filter drain all at once with no fuss and easy clean-up. I'm looking forward to using it in all kinds of applications.

Expected More, but still great
For the few small machines I have to drain the oil from, this device has solved a problem which often resulted in at least a small mess. It's a task I really don't like to do and the conventional method of finding the right angles and the right container required more careful planning than I put forth.Upon receiving this product, it was somehow smaller than I anticipated, but I think the size is "just right" for my applications. The disappointment I have arises from the fact that it is not infinitely bendable ... it can be bent in a U, curving one way, I could not make a U grove with a tight S-curve to the destination, the metal plate inside just doesn't bend in "every" direction. Despite that, I can twist the grove and generate a lip where it matters to find something that works.I like the coating, it easily wipes clean and forms a precision dripping point for catching the fluid in just about any container.Because I am not aware of a better solution, this product for me is 5 stars.
