Product description The new 12-inch collector dolls from Star Wars: Episode I, The Phantom Menace have taken the previous lines' attention to detail to gratifying new levels of authenticity. This rendition of Episode I's Qui-Gon Jinn features the Jedi Master wearing belted, tan fatigues underneath a hooded, flowing traditional Jedi robe; his hand clutches a lightsaber to do battle against the evil Darth Maul. The facial features of this Qui-Gon are especially well done--unlike most previous Star Wars dolls, this large collectible Jedi figure features real doll hair. --Jerry McCulley .com The new 12-inch collector dolls from Star Wars: Episode I, The Phantom Menace have taken the previous lines' attention to detail to gratifying new levels of authenticity. Gorgeous!
There's pretty much nothing to add to the other reviews here, but I did want to chip in and say I wish I'd had this guy as a kid! I bought him in conjuncture with the 12-inch TPM Obi-Wan (from a different seller here on Amazon), and the seller of this guy packaged him very nicely. Mine came loose, and was packed in such a way that it honestly reminded me of unwrapping a bouquet of flowers.Even with the good reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect--not because of the seller, but simply because I'd never seen a 12-inch figure from Hasbro before, which (as another reviewer pointed out) is basically a Star Wars take on a Ken doll. But what a glorious take it is.I am extraordinarily pleased. The detail is amazing. The clothing is fantastic. The sculpt, the paint job, the hair . . . and unlike the Obi-Wan from the same series, I found that Qui-Gon actually holds his lightsaber, which is a definite plus.As I stated in my review of the 12-inch Obi-Wan figure, if I had kids, this is what I'd get them. Very, very well done, Hasbro--and major props to the seller for packaging this guy so perfectly!

Mold all over
Originally had a good review up, but after opening the (unopened) box, we noticed insane amounts of mold covering the cloak. Very upsetting — still waiting to hear back about why this happened.

Better than I expected!
Was the Phantom Menace so unpopular that 12" Qui-Gon Jinn figures are still out there for under $20, as I write this? Well, regardless of what you think of Star Wars Episode I, this is a great figure to add to any Star Wars collection at an excellent price.I suspect the body is Hasbro's standard action-hero body - huge, sculpted muscles, and arms and legs that click-bend. The poseability is fair to average, and Qui-Gon needs a stand or other assistance if you want to display him; that massive, muscled chest makes him top-heavy. Save the little clear rubber band that comes with the light saber, because he doesn't seem to hold it well on his own.The costume was better than I expected. The molded and painted boots, belt and light saber have nice detail. The knit fabric tunic, pants and robe, while simple enough for a mass-produced toy meant to be played with, still look good. The sleeves of the tunic seem a little too long to me, though. That's not noticeable if he's wearing the voluminous robe - I'm not kidding, it's a lot of fabric. The hood is stitched down and appears to be intended for decoration rather than function. The robe is gathered in places by being stitched to brown-colored elastic on the inside; unfortunately, the brown dye of the elastic bled, and my Qui-Gon had some brown marks on his tunic when I removed him from the box. I recommend removing him from the box for this reason, unless NRFB is more important to you. He's nicely displayed in the box, by the way.The best part of this figure is the head. This face sculpt of Liam Neeson is one of the best likenesses I've seen done of any celebrity, and this was the main reason I bought this figure. Plus, he has real hair! Well, synthetic doll hair, actually, but the blended colors make it look very realistic. I would have liked the hair longer, so it would fall in a more natural way. (C'mon, Hasbro, it's not as if a long-haired, bearded Liam Neeson head on a plastic, Schwarzenegger-esque body was ever going to look girly!) Overall, I think the head on this figure looks better than the one on the higher-end collectible Qui-Gon figure, even if the latter has better articulation for those Jedi poses. All in all, an excellent figure! Great for Star Wars aficionados, Liam Neeson fans, and scale figure collectors everywhere.
