Holy Static, Batman!
I had put together a home-made unit using the guts out of an electronic flyswatter and it worked ok on the shorter 4mm static grass. However, it didn't have the power to make 7mm grass stand up like it should. Bought this unit and powered it with a 12v 3amp power supply out of a WII and SHAZAAM! It'll suck grass out of the applicator from 3 inches away!

Worked when tested.
Unit worked as advertised. Watch your input voltage, as they can't stand anything higher than 12.3 volts

Fried immediately
Died after only 5 seconds of use. Side where the wires went in got very hot very fast. Input was a 12v 1a DC supply just as the item is rated.

Perfect for static grass in modeling
I watched a video on how to build your own static grass applicator and they required this as a key part of the device. This was the most expensive element-but It works great and over all much cheaper than buying a tool pre-built.

First one faulty, second one great so far.
This is the second unit I buy. For some reason, the first one was putting very low electrostatic charge, even with a 12v power source. I took the chance and bought a second one (no time to wait) and it worked great. I don’t know about the reliability for others.

Idk
Never worked, neither did the replacement. Was never given a refund after sending it backUpdate: was given a refund, changed to 2 stars instead of 1

Works great for my use in mimicking esd
Inexpensive generator. We use to mimic esd for verification of equipment grounding and voltage dissipation.

Respectable but nowhere near 15kv at 12V
In case you want the numbers from an actual test using a KV meter:12V 5A Power Supply = 8KVExtrapolations:15V = 10KV9V = 6KV
