I thought it would be simply projected into the air...in hind site that was a dumb thought. It is a plastic piece that is lit up but the night light is awesome with a touch bottom power button

The appeal is there. What kid wouldn't want a "3D laser-like almost hologram" dinosaur desk lamp? You've got to be kidding me. It has a high coolness factor. Indeed it does. 7 colors to keep it fresh. At least as many brightness levels to make it adaptable to ambient lighting. It just sips on the electricity with a USB power cable. You could leave it on all year and still be able to pay its energy use with the coins in the couch cushions. A "heavy-enough" base so it doesn't tip over too easily. Yep it is a winner. Capable of putting a smile if for a few seconds on the face of your progeny. So what is with the 4 stars? Where's that last one? Well after I peeled back the protective plastic film on both sides of the acrylic triceratops panel to reveal the clarity and coolness of the optical illusion, I came to realize that as I was pushing the buttons on the tiny flimsy plastic remote with all the settings and such, that if this little remote was to become lost or misplaced..... well let's just say the show will not go on..... It is over. There is no backup button on the base, no press in case of lost remote "little red button", no app, no Alexa, no alternate means of control. So tether that little credit card thin lightweight plastic remote and make sure it doesn't develop legs. Don't let it get lost in the remote black hole. Hang on to it and all will be good in Jurassic room.

The easuntec dinosaur night light is a nice looking laser etched plexiglass dinosaur on a kit display base. When it is plugged in it illuminates the dinosaur along the etch lines. It comes with a remote control so you can change the color or pattern of colors remotely. I think the remote makes it somewhat less good as a night light (because I suspect that kids would play with the remote and color patterns) though parents can keep the remote and use it to turn the light off. This has got to be my favorite night light ever. I wish they made them 6 feet tall. I would get several for our living room. {We are a very dinosaur friendly family.}The only thing which I think could be better done is the power supply. It is usb and does not come with a wall wort. I would have preferred a plug, or to have a wall wort included. That would provide a lot more options for placement. At this point I suspect a lot of people have extra wall worts, but if you do not you have 2 options: plug it into an open usb port on your desktop or laptop, or buy a wall wort (if you do not currently have more than you need).The base is free standing (does not lay flat against a wall or switch plate, like most night lights. It is actually more like a table lamp or lit display. The light is not directed and it does not illuminate a large area. This would be a poor choice for illuminating stairs e.g. For practical purposes it is best not to think of it as a night light. It is a display. It is a friendly little glowing, or cycling or pulsing dinosaur, great decor for a kid's room, or for adults who are fond of dinosaurs. I may need to get a few more.

This is a pretty cool light. We are using it as a night light and like the fact that we can set it to go off after 2 hours. You have the option to set it for 1, 2, 4, 8, 12 and 24 hours.I really like the fact that you can use batteries instead of a cord and because this is an LED the battery should last for quiet some time. In the event that you want to use it powered off the USB cable, you will need a power block which you can use any USB power block with it.The unit can be turned on by touching the top of the unit by hand or using the remote control. The remote has a crazy amount of functions you can do to the night light such as (cycling through colors, flashing mode, dim and brightness settings, automatic cycling of colors, timer mode, on/off and reset function.Overall, this is a really cool light. We love using the different colors each night. It would be great to see a kit that had several different inserts to swap them out or a way to buy new inserts individually.

So this night light that is a triceratops is a lot smaller than I think I thought it was going to be, but since night lights are usually small that is not an issue really. My son loves that he can control this with a remote control so that is an added bonus. The night light can change to 7 different colors, and can be set for many alternate time frames such as 2 hours, 4 hours, etc. It can be plugged in with the provided cord or you can install batteries. However the cord supplied is a USB cord and not a wall plug which is not provided. It is not super bright either, but what light it does give off is pretty cool as it shows the outline of the dinosaur in different colors and modes. I would recommend for a dinosaur lover who may be afraid of the dark or just needs a distraction at night to fall asleep. I would not use this for a light source and would recommend the battery option if you don't want to drag a laptop in your child's room to plug this into.

My kids love this light and I think it is pretty cool too. It is easy to set up, I like that it comes with a usb cord and can be plugged in, but there is a battery option as well. The panel itself is very light and slides right in the base. The base feels very light as well, which makes me question the quality and durability. There is a button on the base that allows you to change color. The remote has many options on it, dimming, timer, color change and rotation, which are all fun options to have. I think it is great for all ages, my 5, 3, and 1 year olds are all mesmerized by it. I am giving it 4 stars because it doesn’t feel like the best quality, time will tell how durable it is. We are happy with it so far, it is a very fun light.
