Decent primer for beginners.
I may be sheltered, but I had no idea who Steven Rosenthal was, so I took a chance on this. Overall, this wasn't a bad read. If you're a pipe aficionado, or like me, an old codger stuck in my ways, it's probably not going to teach you anything you don't already know. However, it serves as an informative primer for beginners and covers tobacco types, tobacco processes, blends and blending. Additionally, the section I found most interesting was on pipe history, manufacturer history and pedigree. For a couple bucks, you could do much worse.

Great introduction to pipes and tobaccos
I really enjoyed Steve's book! In particular his coverage of types of tobacco and considerations when choosing a pipe were well conceived and presented. Highly recommended!

A fun little read . . .
. . . but little more than that. Hardly "comprehensive", though I suppose "A Superficial Introduction to Pipe Smoking" would hardly make a good title, would it?
