Myths & Mermaids: Oracle of the Water Cards – January 8, 2015

I just received my Myths & Mermaids Oracle Of The Water Deck, and I absolutely love it! I'm a fan of Jasmine Becket Griffith's work, and once again I'm left breathless. This is another beautifully made deck, and each card has a detailed message be it for good or as a warning. The guidebook is nice, I just wish that it had a couple more base spreads added but it's not a big deal. The book still gives detailed messages and helps guide you towards the answers you seek. The cards are colorful and yet dark, but I felt it brought balance as if going through the calm before the storm sorta thing. There's also little sea symbols on the bottom of each card, and some of them are black, while others are blue. The book states that those colors can be used for yes or no readings, such as black meaning no, and blue for yes. I thought that was a neat little touch. I felt instantly connected to these cards once I opened the box. As I flipped through each card I felt calm yet curious. So I ended up doing a reading for myself, and out of the only two readings available in the book I chose "The Wave". My reading completely resonated with my situation, and I'm still gathering a feeling for how to interpret the cards so that I may better understand them when reading in the future. So I'd say if you are drawn to sea creatures, mermaids, and all of the wonders of the ocean life then you will love this deck too.

I adore this deck! I love the little poems that go with each cards and the messages are on point.

It has been spot on, insightful and the reader can take the message of the cards even deeper. The Guidebook is pithy and the poetry lovely. This is my first JBG oracle and I am considering adding additional ones to my collection.

These cards are great! I pre-ordered back in August and finally got them at the end of January. They were definitely worth the wait.The cards size and quality are a lot like the other Jasmine Becket-Griffith oracle decks and I have received a lot of compliments on the artwork as well. There are some cards that have a landscape view which I like and find interesting. There are also small symbols on the bottom on each card in either blue or black. These are used for different kinds of readings that are talked about in the book such as yes/no readings. I sorta wish that it was more black and red or some other color that you can tell the difference between especially if you are colorblind (I'm not colorblind by the way).As for the guidebook I like that it is straight to the point with the meanings. I'm a person that doesn't want to hear a story but rather an in-depth description of the meaning which is what this guidebook has with a good amount of text.I also feel like I connected with these as soon as I took them out of the box which is awesome! My advice is that if you are attracted to the artwork and theme then definitely give these a go.

I love the art of Jasmine Becket Griffith , Mermaids, and Tarot cards. What would be a better purchase? These are on really thick stock , the box makes a lovely presentation, and there is a booklet to tell you the lay outs and what they mean. I read Tarot and have a collection. These were bought for their beauty!

Another gorgeous deck by Jasmine, I also own Les vampires. I'm proud to have this in my collection!

I love these cards I have all of the Strangeling sets other than the vampires and though these are pretty I have to say that they were a bit less gorgeous and fluent than Oracle of Shadows & Light. Now that being said had I not already loved my others and this was my first deck I would not have this issue. Though I do like the others better I am definitely glad I bought these and I do love them. I feel that they are a good set to have and they are very well laid out. I like that it came almost the same package wise as the others other than missing that inner boxing that keeps the cards from sliding around. This one does not have that so the cards do shift in the box. But if you can live with that these are a must have. I love them.
