Works Great To Assist Standing.
This one is a little bit smaller than my old one but works great. The cushion is comfortable. My primary use is when I need to use my walker to sit in like at doctors office, this fits in the seat and gets me on my feet very easily. I have a hard time rising from a normal chair or couch. This is easy to take with me. One complaint I have seen with these chair lift devices is that people try to rise up going forward and trust me, don’t. Try to lift straight up, not forward. Learned my lesson with my old one, didn’t like it at first and then trying to use my walker with this new one trying to fix a plumbing problem and leaned forward. Definitely moved me forward, not up. If adjusted to your weight, this can help lift 70% of your body weight so make sure to get the right one. I call this my ejector seat and well worth the cost. So tired of not being able to get back on my feet from sitting down but this gives me back some of my independence.

Product did not work successfully for me
I am bound in a wheelchair learning to walk and have issues getting up onto the walker and my physical therapist made me aware of these. I went and purchased one. We adjusted it to a lot less weight than I am and the second time we tried it. It nearly shot me over the top of the walker. I waited too long to return it and I ordered two because one was gonna be too far away in the shipment and they both came within days. So now I’ve spent over $300 and I can’t return them even though one of them is still in the box and the other ones been used twice. So no, I am not pleased with this product or the company and provides it.

Just what I was looking for!
I have bad knees and really needed something to help me stand. This device works very well and gives a hard push to get you up. Just be mindful that you need to use chair arms to get you the rest of the way up and that chair might slip backward as you stand if you have tile floors. Other than that, this devise works better than I expected and gives me the confidence that I can get up on my own without help. I read comments that it was uncomfortable, but I have sat for hours reading and find it very comfortable.

Use on flat surface
Great product. I gotvit to help get up from couch, but needs firm surface for best results and my couch is too soft. Still lifts enough to stand.

This item cannot be used in a deep cusshioned chair.
I bought this for my 87 year old mother who had recently had spinal surgery. It does work exactly as advertised. The problem we had was my mother uses a over stuffed chair to watch TV and this item requires a more stable platform to be secure and not tip to the side. This is very comfortable and firm. It is adjustable to the weight of the individual. Be careful when reaching for something below your waistline while sitting on this as it may push a light weight individual forward.

buyer beware
Non returnable, item doesn't work for weak or elderly persons, the mechanism for it to work requires the weight of the person to press it down with enough, it's a very strong spring. Design is unrealistic.

An eighty six dollar penalty is charged to return! Update: via chat on Amazon, $ has been refunded
The seat assist arrived in a timely manner and looks nice. However, the slight lift is not, as advertised, enough to be of help standing. This Amazon purchase has been a nightmare. I could not complete a return on my "orders" account, as I normally would be able to do. It went around in circles, incomplete. So, I called customer service and was told I would receive a return label by immediate email, and that I would be penalized $86 for returning this $192.33 item. I did get an email restating the penalty, but not offering a return label. I have tried to get help from Amazon with this, but have been unsuccessful. UPDATE: It took a long time, but Amazon chat first said I would not get the refund because it was an "additional item sent in error". However, I ordered one, paid for one, and received one, "Chat" finally figured out the issue and I have received a mailing label and have been told I will receive a full refund in 4-6 business day!.

It is not recommended for wheelchair use because when a person leans forward ...
For my dad with very advanced Alzheimer's. We could not lift him out of a sitting position to transfer him to bed. This REALLY helped us out, since he's 240 lbs and can not be lifted. It gave us the needed "start" to a standing position. It is not recommended for wheelchair use because when a person leans forward it activates the lift. However, I got this so he could use it in his wheelchair, but made sure the legs on the chair were up so he could not lean forward and activate it. When we transfer him from the chair to bed it is important to have the brakes on so it does not roll backwards when he stands. He is now able to be taken outside to sit in the sun or go for walks around the block. With the proper precautions, having the legs elevated and brakes on, it has been an awesome addition to my dad's quality of life.
