Works Good
Powerful enough for an old lady. Gets the job done. Easy to hold.

Super versatile jigsaw
I bought this saw for a kitchen remodel (mostly to cut flooring) but then discovered that I use it for everything. I already had the right rechargeable batteries for my drill. It is so much easier to use and so much more versatile than my corded jigsaw. I wish that I bought it years ago. Highly recommend!

Works great but
I feel like the blade lock/release mechanism is a bit annoying as the blade will pop off every now and again. Other than that, this saw works as expected and cut right through OSB board without issue.

7 out of 5 Stars to make up for the 1 Star reviews saying it doesn't include battery...
Very nice simple jigsaw. I have a nice older corded Skil jigsaw, but wanted something that didn't have a power cord (something I am fully capable of sawing off). I was impressed with the amount of power this has and I didn't feel I was losing power with this battery-operated B&D jigsaw vs. AC jigsaw. Very heavy feel (in a good way), even without the battery.I bought mine "Used - Very Good" and couldn't tell it wasn't new except it had a used blade on it. It's not supposed to, but mine came with a 20v battery & charger, which sells for more than what I paid for the jigsaw. Even without a battery & charger (description kuh-LEAR-ly says are "not included" and "tool only"), at less than $40 it's a great deal. The beveled shoe is handy, too.One minor con for this is that the guide for lining up the cut is a couple inches away from the blade, which makes accurately cutting on a line more difficult. I taped a piece of cereal box cardboard with a straight line on it it in front of the guide closer to the blade (see pic), which helps me a lot. ®®®Patent pending!®®®If you're in doubt, lean in the direction of getting one, especially if you're like I am and have a half dozen other B&D 20V tools and batteries.•••I wasn't at all bribed to write a positive review, but if B&D is listening I would totally sell out for free merch.•••

Great for portable DIY use
My corded jigsaw died on me. That's OK, I had it for about 25 years and it was a basic one...could not do beveled cuts. Since I have three other BD 20V tools and have been very pleased with them, I decided to purchase this model. I was surprised by how heafty this thing weighs without the battery. By the way, it doesn't come with a battery and is advertised as such, but I have 3 other 20V batteries so no big deal to me. It has a quick release lever for blade placement so no tool is needed. I have the Bosch T-shank blades and they fit perfectly into this. I like this unit but with minor dislikes:Cons: takes a hex key to loosen the shoe in order to angle it. The hex key is stored on-board but it is really hard to pull out. If you have weak fingers, you will probably need a screwdriver to pry it out. There is no on-board storage area for your blades, though it would seem a flip top lid could have been built into the handle for this. I am using a small magnet placed on the inside of the shoe to hold my blades. The magnet fits perfectly and can hold onto 2 blades even if I vigorously wiggle the unit around. It will hold 4 blades but the 3rd and 4th will come loose with low intensity shaking. A larger magnet or a second one same side or the other side would probably easily hold at least 4 blades.

better then i expected
bought this on sale when it dropped to same price as most corded ones and thinking it wouldn't be as effective. well i as wrong and amazed it worked better then the ones i have. plus it isnt stuck to a cord so more options on using it anywhere if needed. battery on it from another tool in the line worked perfect while keeping power all the way till it was drained which i cant say the skill saw shares that aspect but thats another review. very happy with everything ive done with it from metal 2 in thick hard cutting board material to basic wood panels even 2 x 4 s. it hasnt let me down but if so i can say first hand the warranty service is the best ive ever seen so not worried one bit
