Lovely fondant icing to work with
So easy to use, smooth, soft, easy to roll and the colour is stable and throughout the whole block not patchy at all.I was making my sons wedding cake and he only eats devil food cake with chocolate fudge icing so I needed a chocolate coloured fondant to cover the cake, this was perfect, I used a small amount of the filling on the outside of the cake so the fondant was able to stick to the cake and it worked really well.If you want to use this fondant to model flowers or figures it is a little soft when worked so keeping it cool once formed is helpful until it naturally dries and can hold the shape you want.I used 2 250g packets to cover an 8inch round cake, this amount gave a good coverage with barely any waste, what is left has been saved to make a couple of small figures or a couple flowers.Although the fondant is quite soft it is not sticky making it wonderful to work with, I have used a lot of fondant icing over the years and this is by far the smoothest I have ever used. As for the value it isn't overpriced but also not the cheapest but the quality makes it fantastic value for the money.I could only find the 250g packs but larger packs would be better for larger cakes but the packs do combine really nicely.I can recommend this fondant icing for your needs

Buy quantity 2 if you want to cover a 9" cake
Looks good rolls easily taste nice however if you roll one packet it only covers the top of the cake not the sides I had to put ganache all around the sides and chocolate shavings and chocolate hundreds and thousands too hide the fact that it did not cover it it was a nightmare so if you're gonna buy it make sure you buy quantity 2 or you won't cover your cake I even tried to roll it thinly but all it then does is rip because it was too thin and is very difficult to pick up. I would definitely buy again but next time I would buy 2

Good but expensive
The icing was the colour I needed for my son's birthday cake and it rolled out easy enough. The taste was ok too. However I probably won't buy again as I thought it was just too expensive for the amount I got.As there wasn't enough for the cake, my son experimented and used a small amount of black icing from the supermarket and mixed it with some cheap white icing and he managed to get a very similar colour. This was much cheaper and very easy to do. You could also mix black food gel colour into the white icing, but that can be quite messy.
