I recently added the TOOLSTEK WOKIN 140mm Mains Tester to my toolbox, a straightforward tool designed for testing electrical circuits within the 100-500 volt range. Here’s a detailed look at its performance and utility.Functionality and Ease of UseThe TOOLSTEK WOKIN Mains Tester is aimed at providing a quick and easy way to check for live circuits. It features a plain slot blade tip that easily inserts into standard outlets and terminal blocks. The neon indicator in the handle lights up when the tip detects voltage, which makes it very user-friendly even for those who aren't professional electricians. This tester is particularly useful for quick checks around the house or on job sites.Design and Build QualityWith a length of 140mm and a blade width of 3mm, this tester is compact and easy to handle. The build quality feels robust, capable of withstanding the rigors of frequent use. The handle is designed to be comfortable to hold, which is a plus during extended use. The inclusion of a neon light within the handle is a simple yet effective design choice that offers clear visibility and immediate feedback.Safety FeaturesSafety is paramount when dealing with electrical testing, and this tester is equipped with basic features to ensure user safety. However, it’s important to always ensure that the tool is used within its voltage range and operational guidelines. While the tester does a good job for its intended use, additional insulation on the handle would be beneficial for enhancing safety during use.PortabilityThis mains tester’s size makes it highly portable. It can easily be carried in a pocket, toolkit, or even clipped to a belt, which is ideal for those who need to move around or climb ladders while working.Value for MoneyFor a tool that performs a crucial function, the TOOLSTEK WOKIN Mains Tester is reasonably priced. It’s not only affordable but also reliable for basic electrical testing, making it a great value for both DIY enthusiasts and professional users.Overall ImpressionsThe TOOLSTEK WOKIN 140mm Mains Tester is a handy tool for anyone needing to check for live electrical circuits regularly. It offers straightforward functionality, decent build quality, and practical design, all at an affordable price point. While it may not have the advanced features of more sophisticated testers, it perfectly fulfills the role of a basic voltage tester, making it a worthwhile addition to any toolkit.

Worked for me (not as a mains tester though)
I thought this was a screwdriver for plugs/wiring etc and works well for that. Not used as a main tester as not sure how

Spend a bit more and get one from Toolstation
Will still work fine as a driver for wiring. Anyway, popped it in my pocket. Did like 4/5 jobs. Went to get it out my pocket and the end is missing 😭 gutted it wasn't even robust enough to be used once after being in my pocket. Pretty lite day of work too

Cheap
The screwdriver seemed cheaply made and did not detect current every time, maybe I had a faulty one.As it was so cheap I threw it away and decided to spend a bit more money on a electrical tester to be on the safe side.
