I can't tell this was a refurbished drive!!!
3TB Hard drive was shipped well packaged and arrived in great shape. Upon opening the sealed anti-static bag, I inspected the hard drive. Being that this drive is "refurbished", I was expecting some signs of being used. Much to my surprise, the hard drive looked new. No scratches, dents, fingerprints,or any other indication that this drive was previously used. Now I did not run any type of hard drive diagnostics to ensure every sector was good. My security camera NVR drive went out and this was the replacement, so I installed it right away, formatted it via the NVR, and it worked immediately. Only time will tell how long this will last, running 24/7. The old hard drive was a Western digital surveillance rated 2TB and lasted 5 years running 24/7, minus the few times I've shut the system down to blow out dust. I keep my electronics clean to ensure the longest life.If you have any reservations about buying refurbished from HardDriveGeeks, don't. Again, I can't speak for the longevity, but everything up to this point has been great!

Works as expected and priced well
It arrived in great condition and is running fine after several months of use. This is used in a Synology NAS that is tied to a media server. It is constantly accessed and has not had any issues.

Working well
First time I get refurbished hard drives. So far, I have been pleased with this purchase. The hard drives arrived well packed in professional drive packaging and sealed anti static bags.I am using them in a 5 bay external USB enclosure in RAID array and even while under heavy write loads, they tend to run cool. After transferring some 10 TB to the 5 drive array, I have switched my production to this drive set while keeping the old array as a backup. So far, have had no problems.I can't speak for longevity, time will tell, but If I don't update this review, then so far all is well.

Seagate 3TB 7200RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s---- Seems a good drive but take care when using it.
Seagate 3TB 7200RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s .... sold by Worldwide Product Importer and Fulfilled by Amazon.Hello everyone.. I found this HDD with what I felt was a reasonable price while I was looking for a HDD for back up files. It arrived today and I have some impressions. If you are looking to use this with an XP machine, you will need a Win7 or higher ( don't know if Vista can find it ) to be able to initialize the drive. XP cannot see the drive in its "out of the box" condition. If you format in NTFS for XP, you will only get about 2.2 Tig worth of storage as that is all that is allowed in that format. There is some comments where if you set up to format GUD you can recover more storage, as I am after storage for older XP and up machines, I need to use NTFS...... I can justify the cost per TB because this drive is priced so reasonably. Being a refurb, it is wise to use this drive with an additional BU drive. NO HDD is forever, they are mechanical and they all can fail at some point. The disc tested good with no problems, and it runs stealth, that is, when it spins up and is running, you, or I cannot hear anything. The only way I know it is running is either the drive light or I have to physically touch the drive and then I can feel slight vibration from the disc in spin mode..... Moving onward.... and when I ran a test to copy data over to it I found the drive gets VERY WARM, actually, IT GETS HOT. I found just leaving it on and connected to the computer gets the drive UNCOMFORTABLY HOT just in the idle state.I removed one star because of what seems to be a temperature concern, I don't know if you would consider this an operational concern, as it operates perfectly.I will recommend this drive but I STRONGLY recommend an enclosure that has a good fan because of the amount of heat build up that this drive creates. I realize and have worked with drives that do get somewhat warm, but this drive gets very warm to the touch. My suggestion is to use it ONLY for backups and do not leave it on and idle all day because it gets very warm just in spinup IDLE. Have a VERY WELL ventilated enclosure and only power it up when you are making your back up or restoring your data, THEN SHUT IT DOWN!. If there is any reason for a failure, it would seem heat will be the number one problem. Control this problem and you should have a good service time from this product. This was a review on Seagate 3TB 7200RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s on 05-22-2017.This kind and honest review was given by myself and I was NOT compensated or reimbursed in any way.... Thank you very much.

3TB of space for under $60? I'm loving it!
Wow, a 3TB drive for under $60!At first the drive was not recognized (they never are on my system) so I went into Disk Management on Windows 10, and reformatted the drive and soon enough, I had 2.72 Terabytes of beautiful usable storage (the system reserves 300MB on the drive for indexing space, I presume).I wouldn't worry about the refurb aspect of it. I have a feeling people return these drives for no reason, they test them, and send them out with not the "official" packaging.Would I recommend this drive, or consider buying another? Absolutely. If you need the space, buy two or even three of them.
