Great fry pot
This fry pot meets All my expectations. Other reviewers were complaining about the Fry basket handle collapsing. I am not experiencing any problems with the Fry basket collapsing, perhaps these individuals are grabbing and squeezing the handle, thus making the Fry basket handle collapse. The Fry basket also has a hook to hang the basket along the edge of the pot. The base of the pot is a heavy duty base. I'm extremely pleased with this purchase and I do recommend it.

This fryer is just what I needed!
This fryer is just what I needed!I ordered a cheaper one (shaped like a wok, painted red) that was very flimsy. It would warp while on the stove and start "dancing around", spilling oil over the sides, causing a potential fire hazard. This one is solid, and deep. I only have 2 little gripes: the handle collapses when you turn the basket over to dump out the fries (which I remedied by bending the pins a little tighter), and the spaces in the basket are a little wide, allowing smaller fries to escape into the oil. Otherwise, this is an excellent value if you're looking for a stovetop deep fryer.

Nice pot
Nice pot I've only used it once so far. I like that both items are stainless steel. I use it as stove top deep fryer for french fries. Some posters have posted they've had trouble with the handle of the basket collapsing. I think the basket is designed with a clip on it to sit on the rim of the pot to drain the excess oil. At least that's what I've done. I just move the fries around with a set on tongs once I clip the basket on the rim. The pot itself could be used for multitude of dishes. So far it hasn't discolored as I have a propane stove.
