An Excellent Phone with GREAT Customer Support
Acenis' large button phone is idea for my dad. He ha macular degeneration and these big numbers are just perfect for him. The black numbers on a white background are easy to see and there's very little chance of fat-fingering numbers when dialing out. There are also three memory-dial keys at the top for frequently dialed numbers that can be labeled with pictures for ease of recognition. There's also a soft grip on the phone for a more secure hold. The first phone we received could only receive calls and wouldn't dial out. We tried the trouble-shooting options and none of them worked, so I contacted Acenis' customer service group. They confirmed we tried the various trouble shooting options and offered a few more things for us to try, which also didn't work. They apologized for the problems and sent us out a new phone that worked perfectly. There was no back-and-forth, no weeks of delay -- they were fast and remained in communication until we received the phone. If you have parents with vision issues and are looking for a landline phone that'll help them easily make calls -- you've found it. And the fact that the company stands behind the quality of their communication products makes this an easy choice.

Doesn’t hang up properly
I can’t even reach my mom because it doesn’t hang up properly. That’s dangerous. I have an elderly mom with dementia and this phone doesn’t hang up securely 80% of the time. Bogus

Great customer service & life saver product
Long story, but had difficulty with the first phone. I had bought it for an elderly relative who raised a handicapped grandchild. With the picture buttons, the now adult grandchild could call someone if something happened to the grandmother. Not sure what happened, but after I programmed the buttons, she later unplugged the phone (which causes it to reset) to put the pictures in. Then it didn’t work. She didn’t understand how to reset. I was very ill for several months and out of town with surgeries and hospital stay. When I was able I went and tried to reprogram the phone numbers. I could not get it to reprogram except for only one number. I contacted customer service and they were extremely helpful, receptive, and immediately responded. After trying all that they ask me to try, they offered me another phone. I installed the new phone and had no issues. All is well. Customer service contacted me again to make sure all was OK and that I was able to program it with success. Although we had difficulty with the first phone, everything was extremely easy to get help from a very pleasant customer service rep, named Mary. Mary made sure that I was able to help these two individuals whose situation is difficult. They love the phone and it is easy enough for the grandchild to just touch the programmed picture to get help. I will have to say that it is the most pleasant customer service I have ever had to deal with and that the Terry phone is and could be a real life saver.

Great phone & excellent customer service
Purchased this phone for my elderly father who lives in assisted living period. He has hearing, speech, grip, and mobility issues that affect his ability to use a telephone without assistance. The handset has a grip pad on it which makes it easy for him to hold the handset when using the phone. It also has a speaker phone for a hands free option and this is particularly helpful for conference calls. There are 3 memory buttons you can set up to program 3 different numbers for one button push dial. This makes it really easy for my dad to call us if he needs anything in case he forgets our number. When we received the phone we followed the instructions and registered it. When we went to set up the phone we made a mistake without knowing it and plugged the handset into the outjack on the back of the phone. For some reason we completely missed the handset Jack on the side of the phone. Needless to say we didn't get the phone to work and we were very frustrated. The next day I had resigned myself to purchase a different phone when customer service from Terry phone reached out to me via text to ask me how it went with. The installation of the phone. I told them that we couldn't get the phone to work and I thought it was defective. They responded with some troubleshooting things to try to see if we could get the phone to work. I was certain I had done everything right? The first time and was reluctant to try but I did anyway. Needless to say when I Followed the customer service reps (THANK YOU, MARY!) suggestions that's when I discovered the jack for the handset on the side of the phone. I was embarrassed about being such a dimwit. But I was extremely happy that the phone was now working and I didn't have to get a new one after all. My dad absolutely loves the phone it's easy for him to use. I would recommend this phone for anyone.

Would have been great if…
This would’ve been perfect for my mothers with Alzheimer’s. If the cord running from the phone to the wall would’ve been fixed into the phone. Instead, it’s one of those that can be removed. Well, the problem with that is that she constantly removed it. And cannot figure out how to put it back. At one point, she removed the cord and tried to put the phone in her purse and take the purse with her. If only this was firm in the wall, it would stay that way and she could use it. That is one little detail that apparently whoever came up with this did not think about. It’s not all that uncommon from what I understand. Too bad.

unsatisfied with the company
The item does not work. This phone was for my mother as recommended by her assisted living worker. After numerous attempts to replace this phone, I am totally disgusted with the process and item. So i have requested a refund which the company insists the order number, from Amazon, is not correct.
