I bought this because I wanted to clean up my barbecue for the summer. The hood had tons of P sized rust spots. It was freckled. The leg supports had several rust spots sprouting as well. I gave them a light sanding and painted them. So far looks great covered well. Not sure how it’s gonna hold up to the barbecue heat, but it looks great for now. Thinking of not putting a coat of paint on top of it since I don’t have any and so far, it looks great and it’s a flat black, which is what I wanted. Sprayed on very well and easy.

This product did an amazing job at returning all my rusted item, to a better looking. I also had a very rusted looking front truck bumper, and this rust-paint made it look like new again. Of course, the first layer was thin, so multiple pass were needed, but at the end the result was great.Be careful to sand off and remove all rust "flakes" first though, because otherwise, if you paint over them and they then peal away, your paint will be gone with them, while leaving some nasty rust spots underneath.

Some time ago, I used some Rust Converter paint that was "Clear" and when sprayed on rust turned it black and where there wasn't rust, it stayed clear. It truly stopped and converted the Rust.This product seemed like Primer Paint and I'm not certain it arrested the Rust? It goes on smooth and dries fairly quickly. I used it to try and restore a Mower Deck. I like the old Clear Rust Converter but am not sure of the brand?

We’ve used Rustoluem Rust Reformer on multiple automotive projects. It’s very durable and allow us to restore exterior metal (bumper & window trim) to an OEM appearance on vintage autos.

Washed everything under the truck the best I could at the car wash. After a couple days to insure everything way dry, I crawled under and coated everything metal (even the light rust) with the product. That was 10 years ago. For the most part after 10 years, the coating was still doing the job. Figured I'd paint everything again for another 10 years. Really wasn't sure what to expect from a rust converter the first time I used it. Took 3 cans to coat everything; that's great! But actually amazed it sealed everything so well. I give it A+++++
