No. I have used this for over 50 years, and have never noticed a smell. I have had several respiratory issues since birth, and severe allergies, but this has never bothered me. I just took a deep sniff, and I can barely detect anything, and that is with my nose on the rim.

Q: What is the typical shelf life of this product? Does it come with an expiry date?

No shelf life. I have an 8 ounce bottle that I have had for 15 or more years and it still works; possibly better than when I stored it away years ago. The nitrogen has decomposed and has a strong ammonia smell now, but my vegetable plants seem to like the decomposition. I don't recommend keeping it as long as I have, but I wouldn't go discarding it after a few years either.

Q: Has anyone had success with using this on fiddle leaf figs? Thank you.

I had several fiddle leaf figs in pots indoors and they eventually reached the ceiling using this product.
