Intentional, Impactful, Beautiful Exploration of Life
Collected Works of Kahlil Gibran is a compilation of a variety of types of works written by Kahlil Gibran. As soon as I let go of my expectation that there would be more poetry in Collected Works of Kahlil Gibran and subsequently my disappointment that my expectation wasn't met, I really enjoyed Gibran's work. There are a lot of interesting short stories that would classify as flash fiction. There are some excellent poems. There are a couple of engaging novellas. Gibran's writing felt relevant enough to today's world that I had to remind myself a few times that all his works were written before 1931. Collected Works of Kahlil Gibran explores living, loving, society, religion, and tradition both directly and indirectly with intentional, impactful, and often beautiful writing about interesting characters and events.

My favorite author so I’m biased. BUT buy it. Just do it.
It’s a very beautiful presentation of His works. The only thing I wish is that the individual works are listed in the table of context however the pieces within these works are not. Such as his piece ‘The Prophet’ which has 20 something pieces to it, the individual works in that are not listed in the table of context. So you have to fillip to ‘The Prophet’ and then find the chapter yourself.

Love the works, quality leaves much to be desired
I went with a 4 star as the middle ground.I am giving the actual writing 5 stars, I am sure that I will reread multiple times throughout my life. The writing itself is thought provoking, for the oppressed, about love, life, death, truth, justice, the true message of God and Jesus, hypocrisy of the oppressors and the state and church and more. It is easy to see why spirits rebellious led to the authors excommunication and exile, his criticisms of the church and state are beautifully written and so well expressed it would be difficult for anyone to object. He is a true writer for the people. However, the quality of the book is 3 stars. The good: The pages are thin and well bound, they flow well and aren't stiff. The gold on the edges is beautiful and well done, it literally glitters in the light. The covers and spine are thick sturdy and don't easily bend/break.The bad: There are many spelling errors that do disrupt the flow of reading, it should be re-edited by a professional. The ugly: When I first got the book I couldn't believe how gorgeous it was, I had wanted to display it with the front cover out to highlight the specialness of the entire book. But I won't be doing that now. The gold foiling on the front, back and spine easily rubs off. The front has the most wear, the spine the least. This is disappointing because I haven't even quite finished my first read through of it and the front is almost half gone. This wouldn't prevent me from recommending this specific book, but not without the disclaimer that the foiling will not stay unless you don't handle the book. I hope that the publisher will take this concern, since mine isn't the only one, and redo the process for the gold foiling to prevent this on newer books being put together.I will probably rebind my copy to better preserve the beautiful design with hardier materials but I know most people don't know how to do that, and it shouldnt be needed in the first place.

Great book to read
(Ignore the current condition of it because it was way better when I received it lol)I really enjoyed reading this book and reading the works of Kahlil Gibran. At first I was getting it so I can read “The Prophet “ but then decided to get all the works in one whole book. It really was an interesting read and hopefully to re-read it in the near future.
