Bahco 23-inch Hedge Shear P51
Ordered the Bahco 23-inch P51 hedge shears after my old tru value set had broke.I'm impressed these shears are build like a tank. From the soild steel handles to the hardend ground steel blade that came razor sharp that has a serrated edge at the base for cutting thicker branch material. The shears worked great pruning & shaping an over grown crab apple tree and various other weeping cherry trees.....I have other bahco brand hand tools that I really like and believe they make a fine quality tool that's made in europe.

Extremely Durable & Light
Due to the hot summer here in Texas when you’re not supposed to be using gas hedge trimmers. These have been a saving grace for the man I work with! They remain sharp for a long period of time, they are light so you don’t tie a route as fast while shearing hedges. I started out with two of these and now I’m up to five. I do highly recommend this product. If you’ve been using corona like I have for the last 36 years they are a great product however again durability and being light and weight makes this product better in the long run.

Three Stars
Works, but I still bang my knuckles, which is always the problem I have with hedge trimmers.

Fine cutting product
Fine cutting product. I have the sense that it will last through many years of normal home use and understand why the elderly gardener who has helped us rescue diseased trees uses this brand. Well made, well designed.

My second one, a great tool
Wow, what a difference to use a good shear. My old ones were low quality and I was used to the struggle of them--heavy and awkward, super tiring for big jobs like hedges. These guys are so much more ergonomically friendly, making the pruning go faster and with less discomfort. Recommended.

Well Made (Made in France)
These are good shears, but the "value" aspect is hurt by the high price. My expectations were very high at this price point. They work well at trimming bushes, but the blade could use serrations along the full length to grip branches. The grips are hard plastic, not rubberized, which was surprising. The handles also seemed short (lacked leverage slightly); making them an inch longer would help. The blades, while wonderfully shaped and sharpened, were not very thick, and did flex when chopping larger branches. Again, at the price point I expected very thick blades, but these were typical thickness as found on other shears. Not sure I would buy them again. I do like them, and they're made well, but at the price point I expected to "love" them, as I do my Felco F2 pruner.Lastly, they are made in France and Bahco is the same company that makes Snap-On tools (which are excellent tools used by professionals). Spare parts for the shears are available at Bahco-dot-com.
