This kit and the smallest 'needle' was perfect for the 2mm UHMWPE cord I have and making an infinite loop lanyard for my pocket knife. Stoked!

Great took forever small caliber dyneema
I have been using this primarily to splice small caliber dyneema rope. Usually 1/4 inch. For this purpose it is excellent. On the larger diameters Are use fits, the rigidity makes it a little bit easier.The quality of this item is excellent. Changing the splicing wires on the handle can be a little bit tedious, but it’s not too bad.

Makes splicing much easier
I splice a LOT of amsteel for camping projects. I was using knitting needles and a strand of CAT5 cable to splice 7/64 and 1/8" amsteel. Using this makes splicing go a lot faster, easier, and more cleaner appearing. I had a hard time justifying buying this tool for my hobby activities, but now I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner. Now I can work my scout troop and kick out UCR's, whoopie slings, and continuous loops. Hammock campers splice, don't untie. ;)

Makes splicing a joy
Working with Dyneema, I've torn my hair out with other splicers. This is easy to use, which means I am practicing alot, which means that what rigging I put into play has a chance of holding up. Lovely tool. I have managed, after quite a bit of use, to bend my eyelets to the point where I will need to replace them at some point, but this splicer comes with extras, so that point is a long ways off.

Should have arrived with four needles. Only came with one!
Description says it comes with two small and two slightly larger needles. Only came with on of the larger needles. Returning.

Great tool.
This makes splicing dyneema a breeze. I mainly use it for making soft shackles. It is a great tool and almost a must for a marine rigger if you ask me. One piece of advice, since it is designed for small line, take your time to work the line instead of trying to force things through when splicing. The needles would be easy to bend if you are applying too much force. If you slowly work the line it will pull right through.
