A Mudman with Class
The G9300 Mudman has quite a following. One of the coolest designs ever for G-Shock. Has all the basic G-Shock features; Stop Watch, Alarm, Timer, World Time, Back Light, Tough Solar, etc. But what sets this one apart is the Compass and Thermometer. The gold tone also gives this one a classy appearance and it’s easy to read. Nice watch and I got it for a decent price. No regrets.

I bought this watch because I wanted something durable with some good features. My previous watch was a Casio tough solar sports watch for $30 and worked great and still does minus the strap. So rather that spending my money on strap after strap I took the chance on the Mudman. I have grown up in a military family and honestly tend to be rough on things, but this is holding up well with zero scratches and zero wear after 1 month. As I plan to join the military I wanted a watch that could do the job. I am excited about the features of this watch that I use often. So far the watch looks and feels like a quality watch. The black band and face with the gold accents looks sharp! One thing I was concerned about was the ability to see the face as it is a negative display. After having the watch for a month or so now I can tell you that outside there is absolutely no issues. Indoors however unless you are looking directly at the face, then the glare from the glass and the lack of light in the room can make it difficult to see. This however is easily addressed by turning on the auto illuminate feature. So far the watch has kept a great charge and has remained on high since I charged it.It wears very comfortable and does not at all ride too high on the wrist.

Looks GREAT. Compass isnt great. Easy to read in bright light or total darkness...not in between.
Couple weeks in. Looks GREAT and easy to see in bright light or total darkness. That being said, I'm disappointed in the compass, "low light" visibility, and backlight functionality.Compass: the compass seems pretty accurate though the numbers (0-360) bounce around a bit never really staying steady. Thats really no big deal though and can possibly be fixed through calibration. My complaint is that its a button activated, momentary function rather than a live display. My fault for assuming I guess but I figured the little gold circle in the upper left of the face with N, E, S, W....was it. Just a simple, little digital pointer on the inside that moves when you do. Nope. It eventually displays a north pointer when IN compass mode. Eeeh. Still has a compass though...and in the end... thats badass.Visibility: Mid to bright lighting...GREAT! When backlight's activated in the dark...GREAT. Somewheres between evening and nightfall ...AWFUL. I'm not sure why but there's a couple of hours throughout my day (outside) that it's too dark to read the display but too light for the backlight to help. Sounds strange but I've also been in poorly lit rooms that did the same thing.Backlight: The backlight shows the display bright and clear when in the dark. However, I dislike how quickly the backlight turns off...even when maxed. I also hate that everything you do shuts it off. For example...if you don't know the order of modes and need to find something at night you must hit MODE, LIGHT....MODE, LIGHT....MODE, LIGHT aww there it is. If you're setting an alarm or doing anything that may take a minute you're constantly activating the backlight every three seconds...annoying. And while we're at it...the backlights button location is stupid. Other G-Shocks have it where it belongs ...big button below the face.- end of rant.UPDATE:7 years later and still going strong. Clasp broke last week so I replaced with OEM strap. NOT BAD considering I’ve worn this everyday since 2016 and have NOT taken it easy on this watch by any means. Kayaking, swimming, hiking in all terrain and weather. Most abuse comes from work (building vehicles). This thing gets banged against steel frames, pinched in tooling, splashed with chemicals from IPA to coolant. Very satisfied!

Real watch!
Okay so I looked this up online for my boyfriend to purchase it for him but it was out of stock on the website and I'm very iffy about buying any designer items from online other than the original website because of fake products. However, this came in and we looked it up online to check to see if it could possibly be fraud but everything checked out. It's a beautiful watch with a gold inside against the black. What you really want to look for when you get your watch at the digits and material of the watch, down to the writing of "G-Shock" on the watch, the place and color could be office. Small details are what will give it away. I youtubed it and there are some awesome videos related to fake items and specifically these watches. Go ahead and do your research if you're like me but this seller checks out in my book.

Happy customer
This was my first purchase ever from Amazon so I was a little worried at first that everything wouldn't come as detailed in the description. I had the watch overnighted and it arrived on time 5pm the next day after I ordered it. After opening the package I was happy to see that the box the watch came in looked brand new and was not damaged at all. Opening the g shock box all the warranty and manual papers were neatly on top then the watch came in the usual g shock tin it had all the foam protection inserts the watch was wrapped in plastic bag and had all the tags unlike when you get a g shock at a jeweler like reeds or littmans this watch was not a display model which they seem to put all there watches on display for people to mess with until someone finally buys it this watch was untouched! Came out the box on medium charge but after just 10 minutes in sunlight was on high. All the functions of the watch work as described. It is a negative display which may be a little harder for people with bad vision to see in poor lighting but I can see it perfectly fine and love the look of the gold numbers on the black display also it has el illumination which is better to me than the led there using more and more now it's very bright and easy to read in pitch black darkness it also has the auto feature where all you have to do is tilt your wrist to you and the light will automatically come on in the dark. Great watch great seller everything surrpassed my expectations will definitely be using Amazon more often 5 stars!
