One time payment - life time peace of mind
I chose this device for an elderly relative who is quite frail and mobility-challenged lately. I took to heart many things and comments from others' reviews, and I must say I was sold by what I read. Now, I can also endorse this product. To reiterate, you pay for this product once. No monthly fees (you do need a landline or VOIP phone, though). No outside "operator" (private enterprise) interpreting your emergency -- but, upon activating it you do speak with a 911 operator. And what I particularly like about this thing is that the pendant you wear (around neck or clipped to belt/waistband) is the actual communication device (mic & speaker) with a 911 operator (via the included base station). From what I can tell, other systems (...fallen, can't get up...) have a pendant that is *just* an activation button and you have to speak/shout/holler to the base station somewhere in your home. Imagine being in the basement, having a heart attack, and trying to shout to the base station up in the master bedroom. Not so with the LogicMark Guardian Alert. Let's be real, essentially it is a cordless phone (in the pendant) to the dedicated base station that calls 911 when you press the button on the pendant. And that's just fine by me. After all, who better to interpret and react accordingly than a 911 operator? Why have an "in-between" private company that is charging a monthly fee?As far as the technicals go, this unit has a couple of diagnostic tests that assure you it is working; battery check and systems/dial tone check. The systems check can be initiated anywhere you are with the pendant, letting you know it is communicating properly with the base station -- you can also hear the dial tone when you test the system. The range of the unit in my case covers about a 1/4 acre with no problem, from basement to garage to yard to all the rooms on the main floor of the house. I have *not* actually made a 911 call with it. Others here have, and I believe it will work when I need it.The pendant is bigger than those "other" ones; about the size of a cigarette pack. But again, peace of mind in clear communication with 911 makes up for the larger size. Of course, if the person activating the pendant loses consciousness or somesuch, remember... 911 must respond to a call that has nobody speaking on the other end (at least in my community it must).

Unit recieved completely dead
Unit received completely dead. There are no instructions other then notes on the box. Information is contradictory about the batteries. A tape over the battery compartment seemed to indicate the contents of a rechargeable battery but there was no battery at all. Indications were that a alkaline battery be installed, but none came with it. All sounded odd since the base unit is also a charger. I tried and alkaline battery, fully tested and the unit was unresponsive. 3 hours waste of my time. The advertising sounds great if it would work. I would try is onew more time once my refund is finalized if I could be assured that I would receive a truly working unit which should have been checked before they sent it out.

AMAZING PRODUCT AND YOU SHOULD ALL READ THIS
What can I say about this product then just to say how fantastic it is. I have experienced many blackouts and very scared of times being alone. I searched and searched for some kind of help in cases if I were to be alone. I had searched for a long time and so many companies are very expensive. Other companies are third party and bill you monthly, That is absurd! This product is so easy to install it literally takes seconds. Easy to use and guess what? there are no third parties you talk to, If something was to happen all you do is press the button and it dials your local 911 operator direct. You can speak into the monitor in which they send you so you either hand it on your neck or clip it to your pants, skirt, purse etc...And best of all if you can't speak the 911 operator already had your address. ll you do is connect it to your telephone line and that is it ! why pay for a monthly service. this product is amazing and it does the job well. You pay one time and that is it! This is exactly what I was looking for, The other thing that I worried about was the other companies that offer products like this with monthly payments is that when you press the button you speak to a company first and then they will direct the call to 911. My fear is and has always been employees selling your private info. Not with this product, when you push that button you are dialing from your home directly to 911 for help. Follow the easy directions and then make sure you do a test call, push the button and you will hear ringing, you will then hear 911 what is your emergency? You just simply say this is not an emergency and I have a 911 emergency alert in my house that I'm testing. they ask you first what is your home address ? I told them and they confirmed it and that the device was working properly. Of course my security issues always come in play. I was still a bit nervous when he asked ME the home address. I then called 911 from my telephone and asked if there was a call made by my number time and date. They confirmed yes. I was so happy to hear that . If anyone is paying monthly fees for any 911 alert system then you are no doubt throwing your money away. This is an amazing product and I highly recommend it. Thank you
