I live in the Austin Texas area. We had a large oak tree with leaves that turned yellow shortly after leafing out each year. The tree appeared to be dying and we were considering having it removed.As a last resort, we got the opinion of a local tree professional. He mentioned he believed it was a problem called iron chlorosis in oak trees, where the tree doesn't absorb enough iron due to the pH levels in the soil.Per his suggestion, we initially treated the tree with a liquid iron supplement that was added to a large bucket of water and poured around the base and dripline of the tree.
