JET Air Filtration System, 1-Micron Filter, 1700 CFM, 115V 1Ph (Model AFS-2000)

The machine was well packaged and delivery was well executed. The installation was simple. A plug in power cord like a computer with 2 recepticles one near the base and one on the top would make for a cleaner installation. Overall I'm very pleased with the machine.

The first unit was Dead On Arrival! To Amazon's credit, they made it relatively painless to return the unit, and they bent over backwards to apologize for inconveniencing me. They also arranged for the delivery of a replacement unit. Whoopee!! Or so Ithought. Because although the new unit looked great and ran swell for eight whole hours...it failed catastrophically. That's when the fan failed to "spin up" to anything approximating it's intended speed, the unit failed to respond to its remote, to the OFF switch on the filter itself, or even to the "circuit breaker" on the side of the filter. Instead, the sickly smell of overheating electrical components grew stronger and stronger, as I ran to pull the cord out of the electrical outlet. I inspected the filter and found that it was very hot. So I was left wondering whether I had narrowly escaped a fire. Thank goodness I was present when this disaster unfolded!So...the big question for you, potential buyer, is...are you feeling lucky? Or is it time to concentrate on some other brand that has a better reputation for quality engineering and dependable quality control?

This is a good product but needs better packaging. My unit came with dents in a box that did not adequately protect it. It had dents that I had to straighten in order for it to be functional (to remove the filter). I noticed three screws located inside the unit and found where they belonged by looking at the parts diagram. They were three of the four screws that holds the motor in place inside the fan. I took the side off the unit to put them back where they belong. The unit works great but let's face it, it is an expensive item and I shouldn't have to fix it before it is operational, or live with the dents. I would recommend buying replacement filters from another source other than the manufacturer. It is a standard size filter that can be purchased at a much lower price.

I bought this unit for my 1400 sq foot (22,400 cu ft) wood shop, hung it with chains from the ceiling beams directly over the table saw, pretty much in the center of the shop. A year later I am still happy with it. I did the math and the unit filters the total volume of the shop's air 4-5 times an hour and the difference is very noticeable. After hours of cutting wood the air gets cloudy even with this unit and the dust collector running, but after cutting you can actually see the air get clear within minutes. It has made a huge difference in the air quality. I bought the reusable washable filter and though pricey, it's worth it as the filters do need cleaning on a weekly basis and as another reviewer pointed out, disposable filters are not easy to find and you would end up paying a lot more in the long run. I am sorry for the few people here who had serious problems with theirs, but personally I am quite satisfied.

I ordered one, it stopped working and started flipping the breaker (on the machine). I returned it to Amazon. Amazon provided a replacement, same problem.Jet customer service is INCOMPETENT. Same problem keeps happening. DO NOT BUY THIS!BUY A BETTER MACHINE.

I received mine today! Badly damaged, shipping carton and metal housing was damaged. They could get a little more serious about packaging the units out of the factory, maybe a wood pallet. Looks like it might work well but I have a serious vibration. Getting with Amazon, tomorrow. Problem you just don’t drag a 120 lbs unit into the UPS store, no box.

I hung this in my 50x50 shop. We do a lot of metal and woodworking projects in there so we have a lot of dust. This thing is powerful and does a great job of filtering the air. You will notice the difference. I was a little concerned about the reviews that said they received their unit with damage but my arrived in perfect condition. It was on a pallet and packed inside and out with styrofoam. Would definitely recommend this air filter.

This item was shipped badly damaged, and both Acme and the manufacturer have so far refused to back their product. Acme coerced a purchase claiming only one remaining. This is the second very bad experience with Acme. This is not a coincidence.
