So good, makes galettes just like in Brittany.
This buckwheat flour is nice and finely ground, perfect for making French galettes like in Brittany. It was probably 20 years since I had them, this made delicious ones at home just as good as I remember from my trip there. I've wanted to make them for my husband who never had them before, and now they're something we make regularly. This flour is the real deal. The French flour is more finely ground than the buckwheat flours you can get in the US, and in this dish the flour texture effects the final results. 5 stars. I'll buy it again when we run out.

The Real Thing
This is from Brittany in France and is the real thing. I have no other brand to compare it with so I can not say if buckwheat flour from the U.S.A. is the same or not. I decided to spend the extra money in order to get the real thing. I have used it once to make crepes and the taste was very good.

Makes perfect galettes!
I've been trying to make galette for years with grocery store buckwheat flour. Finally, this one did the trick! I had to add much more water than the recipes I found online for galette, but this flour is light years better than the ones in the grocery store. It was shipped in multiple bags, all taped up, so even if there had been a rip, I would have been able to save it. (no issues though). Just pricey-- that's my only complaint. But for gluten free sometimes I pay more....

Treblec is like the king arthur of Britanny
It's mass produced, but pretty good. Probably the best flour available in the US to make galettes (much finer than the other brands I tried).

The real buckwheat flour to prepare galettes like in Brittany (France) but too pricey
I am from Brittany and this brand is what my mom and I used when I lived in France. I ordered it and it is the real thing. The only bad thing is the price. The price in France is currently 2.20 Euros the package !

If you want pancakes stick with Arrowhead Mills
So I purchased this because I was going to make pancakes and according to reviews folks were saying it was so delicious. It is very silky for sure and would probably make good crepes but I wanted something a bit more rustic and hearty. I wasn't too happy with the expiration date either, was like 6 months out and I don't eat enough pancakes that I'd be able to finish the bag before that time. I'll stick to Arrowhead Mills Waffle and Pancake mix. Cheaper to buy at your local grocer and longer expiration.

Get the taste of Brittany, at home
After living in Nantes, I have consistently been disappointed with galettes de sarrasin that I have made at home in the US, never getting the flavor right. Turns out I just needed buckwheat from Brittany! Now our galette taste exactly how I love them.

Makes delicious galettes!
Perfect for making Galettes de Sarrasin! My french husband adores it. The other brand we get at the health food store here is too gritty, this makes them with the perfect texture just like in the Creperie!
