We bought this lamp to replace exactly the same model which we had for over ten years (because the bulbs contacts had rusted). It’s relatively easy to assemble, best done with two people, and the light from the main lamp is very bright and will fill any room. The subsidiary lamp is ideal for reading etc. The overall lamp is attractive and modern as well as being functional. Highly recommended.

I was tad worried about how cheap this lamp was but was pleasantly surprised by the quality.Illumination is excellent and dimmer feature perfect for my needs.It is ornamental and looks as good as the more expensive examples found in the shops.Instructions are poor for assembly but it still went together quite quickly (inserting bulbs is a little fiddly but easy enough).I bought the 1800mm R7 bulb and it fitted fine. Just a shame it is Halogen and not LED. Had it been more environmentally friendly it would have got 5 stars.

Got to replace same style of lamp which lasted many years but was now past it!! Love this one - great price at c.£55 and it's brushed satin/nickel I think it's called - Matt silver finish which was my preference - saw very similar lamp in a big DIY chain, for £85 and only the super shiny finish, so pleased with this one, the look, the price and that it supports a smaller business. Put it together and seems great! Both lamps dimmable. Great range of lighting level with the dimmers, lovely and bright at full brightness. Already love it. Thank you!

Easy to assemble but was harder getting the right bulb to fit but got there in the end a great dimmer light at a good price

These Mother and Baby Lights are very good for general lighting giving control over the level of light required. While the baby light is mobile, great for reading by. With five choices of finish.Over the years I've collected four around the house. Thumbs up all round.

Please proceed with caution if you decide to purchase this lamp! It arrived in good time but the assembly instructions are incredibly fiddly and complex. You need to be up for a challenge. If you decide that this is not a job you want to do, beware.. the supplier will not reimburse postage and it costs a lot to send it back to them up in Leeds. I know as I have just had to do this. They also require the packaging to be in the same condition as when it arrived....challenging. I took one look at the instructions and decided not to bother. It is going straight back for a refund. Please also be aware to supply the tracking number for the return to the supplier or they will make you wait for over 30 days prior to any refund.

This is a very nice lamp, in a lovely smokey almost-black chrome, and very stable and sturdy. There are a couple of points to make. Firstly, the backglass (the top of the smaller lamp) on mine was broken on arrival. However I decided not to return the product because it would have been a nightmare to re-package and dispatch, and it isn't visible in use provided the smaller lamp is kept at a fairly high (45 degree) angle. I can live with that. One of the top arms wouldn't fit tightly into the lamp top, so it's a little bit precarious at the moment. Again I decided to live with this, as it is behind a sofa, not within anyone's reach, and switched on at the mains plug several feet away so won't be touched or made wobble. It's unfortunate but OK. I'm fairly handy so building it was straight forward. It looks a bit daunting when all the pieces are laid out but the instructions are clear. I was glad of a second pair of hands when it came to fitting the base, because that's the awkward bit, but I could still have done it on my own with patience. All in all I'm happy with it, and I think it's good value.
